Illenium- Good Things Fall Apart ft. Jon Belion
The pain that came from these wires taped to my side locked my muscles in places I didn't know I could feel. What's worse is the sound of Derek crying out in pain. I don't have the energy to cry out. My throat is on fire.
"What are you doing to them? Is that going to kill them?" Allison asked her aunt. Her eyes on mine. She hasn't looked away from the moment she realized it was me. Kate still doesn't know who I am.
"Oh, come on, kiddo. Don't get all ethical on me now," Kate turned the dial-up. This time a raspy whimper escaped my lips as the electricity forced me to shift back.
"Stay with me," Derek panted. "I'm right here,"
"What is she?" Allison asked, ignoring him. She zapped us again.
"Shape-shifter, Lycan, Werewolf," Kate began to name us with humor lacing her voice. "To me, they're just dumb animals," she went over to Derek. "Come here. You see these right here?" she asked Allison as she pulled Derek's lips apart to expose his canines. "These are canines. Also known as fangs. Made for the tearing and rendering of flesh. Not something you find on those cute little leaf eating herbivores, is it?"
"This is a joke to you?" Allison asked when Kate laughed to herself.
"Sweatheart, there are werewolves running around in the world. Everything's a joke to me. How else do you think I stay sane?"
"So, it was them at the high school and all the animal attacks?"
"There's actually three of them. These two are betas. Then there's the alpha. Alpha's the pack leader. Bigger, stronger, nastier. Those are the real ugly mother fuckers,"
Allison looked away from me and walked away with her as if none of this bothered her. My body is spasming with the amount of electricity that was coursing through my body. Once it stopped the pain started again. I cried out this time and pulled on the shackles. Can Scott feel that or does it have to be an actual wound for him to feel this?
"Sky? Skylar?" Derek called out to me.
"Yeah?" I answered. He let out a sigh of relief.
"You were so quiet," he panted.
"He'll find us right? Peter?"
"Yes," he reassured me.
Some light is coming in through the opening behind us. Not long after, Kate walked in and sat down at the desk by the dial. I watched her intently as she looked us both over. I tensed up when she reached for the dial. She laughed but didn't turn it.
"You are in quite the pickle, little girl. What are you doing hanging out with this guy?"
"Daddy issues," I answered bitterly. She laughed turning her attention to him.
"Oh, sweetie. We've all been there. Now, I don't know if you were turned or if you were born this way. I'm convinced you were born this way, the amount of restraint you have is amazing. Especially for a she-wolf. Tell you what, I will consider letting you go if you tell me who the alpha is or where to find him. Deal?"
"I don't know who is or where he is. I'm not like him. I wasn't born this way. That thing attacked me a couple of months ago. Derek was trying to help me. I swear. That's all I know,"
"Mhm, that sounds like something Derek likes to do. Play the hero. Hi, Derek," she greeted him as if she's known him for a very long time. "Alright, Derek,"
She came over to me and ripped the wires off my side. I looked over at him. My heart is beating so fast, I swear it's going to jump right out of my chest. My body is trembling with fear as she walked back towards the dial. Derek cried out. I looked down at my feet trying to stop myself from crying as she zapped a few times.
