Dark Horse- Multifemale: I Kneel for No One
Marty had me stay a little later because we were receiving a shipment of parts tonight. I text Scott to see if they were done by the time Marty and I got done putting the boxes in the back. It was late.
"You and Gideon hanging out tonight?" he asked.
"Oh, shit," I pulled my phone out to see it's almost nine o'clock. "No," I began to dial. "G-man, I totally forgot. I'm still at work,"
"It's okay," he laughed. "Marty told my sister you guys were busy working on Lydia's car,"
"Awe, man. I am the worst girlfriend in existence," I shook my head.
"You're not. I get it. You like playing with your toys. I would have forgotten a last-minute date like that too if I had something better to do,"
"It's not even like that," I laughed.
"I know. I didn't mean for it to sound crappy," he laughed. "Raincheck? Uh, my brothers are all here and I'm going to spend some time with them. You don't mind do you?"
"Of course, not. Maybe I'll get to meet the rest of them...?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'll let know how long they're staying,"
"Okay, I'll see you at school then,"
"Bye," he hung up.
"Did I mess up your night?" Marty asked coming over to me.
"No," I shook my head. "I forgot he asked me to the movies during class today. It's just been a crazy day. I had to talk to the counselor,"
"Everything okay?" he asked.
"Yeah, They're just making sure I'm making the right choices. Standford is kind of a big move,"
"Yeah, it is," he nodded. "Get out of here. I'll close up,"
"I mean I have nothing else to do. I'll help," we both locked everything up.
I watched him drive off as I started up my bike. I looked around to make sure there was no one around before I headed home. Scott told me he was going to spend the night at Stiles's researching how to break into a vault. There was no other explanation.
"Hey," mom got home shortly after me. "Just us two today?"
"Yeah, Scott and Stiles are working on a project,"
"I know the sheriff called," she smiled.
"I am making a last-minute dinner," I motioned her to sit down. "Fajitas okay?"
"Heck yeah," she sat down. "Honey, I've been meaning to talk to you about something,"
"Sure," I nodded as I seasoned the chicken.
"It's about everything. I want to know how you're doing keeping up with the boys. How you feel about everything that's happened. You put up a good face but I know you. There's something-mm not exactly wrong but not completely right," I looked back at her. I mean she knows for the most part. "Is it Derek Hale?"
"Mom," I laughed covering the pot with a lid.
"Come on, Sky. It's just us," she pushed. I looked back at her feeling my chest ache and nodded. "Oh, baby," she came over to me and wrapped her arms around me. "Does he not see you that way?"
"It's not about what he wants. I have things I want to do. I expect a lot from myself and I don't need something like that to hold me back,"
"Is this about me and your dad?" she asked.
