GAIA- Crossfire

I opened my eyes to see Dr. Deaton standing over me. He smiled as I lifted myself off the table and looked around. Scott is laying down next to me and Derek is looking at me sitting in the corner covered in blood. I stretched feeling the ache in my chest. It's not as strong as before. I coughed clearing my throat.

"What happened?" I asked.

"That's not important right now," Dr. Deaton placed his hand on my shoulder. I turned back to look at Derek.

"Victoria tried to kill Scott. She put wolf's bane in a vaporizer to make it look like some kind of accident," he answered. We both looked over when Scott groaned and sat up.

"Are you okay?" he instantly reached for me. I want to tell him I told you so. I want to reprimand him for this but I can't find the words. These actions speak for themselves and I don't have it in me to say it anymore.

"Yes, are you?" I asked reaching for him. As soon as my hand met his, I instantly felt better and I know he does too.

"I'm really sorry," he whispered.

"We're fine," I jumped off the table and thanked Dr. Deaton for helping. "We should get going,"

"Yeah," Derek stood up. The three of us got into his car and he drove us back to his hideout. "This can't happen again,"

"What are you saying?" Scott asked.

"I'm saying we need a new plan, because next time, one of us is gonna be too hurt to heal,"

"I get it," Scott sighed. "We can't save Jackson,"

"We can't seem to kill him either," Derek sat down on one of the passenger chairs. "I've seen a lot of things, Scott but I've never seen anything like this. Every new moon's just gonna make him stronger,"

"How do we stop him?" Scott asked.

"I don't know," Derek shrugged. "I don't even know if we can,"

"Yeah, maybe we should just let the Argents handle it,"

"I'm the one who turned him. It's my fault," Derek looked up at my brother.

"Yeah, but you didn't turn him into this," I interjected.

"This happened because of something in his past, right?" Scott agreed.

"It's just a legend in a book. It's not that simple," Derek is frustrated.

"What do you mean? What are you not telling me?" Scott asked. Derek turned to look at him with a glare.

"Why do you always think I'm keeping something from you?" Derek asked annoyed.

"Because you always are keeping something from me," Scott argued.

"Well, maybe I do it to protect you," Derek stated a matter of factly.

"Doesn't being part of your pack mean no more secrets?" a guilt trip? Really, Scott?

"Go home, Scott. Sleep. Heal. Make sure your friends are safe cause the full moon is coming and the way things are going, I've got a feeling it's gonna be a rough one," he looked over at me and motioned to go with Scott. Scott walked away.

"Thanks for tonight. You saved us," I stood up.

"Give him some time to think about what happened before you rip him a new one," he suggested.

"I'm not going to," I shrugged. "There's nothing I haven't said to him that's going to change a single thing. If this doesn't teach him anything then there's nothing I can do for him anymore. I have to look out for myself. Even with this shit between us, how he makes me feel about Allison. I'm always going to choose this,"
