Luciano's POV

"Thank you for coming to the inauguration ceremony of I, Luciano, the recently elected capo di tutti capi of the Italian Mafioso organization. Now, the rituals shall begin." I announced to everyone in the hall.

Murmurs of appreciation went around. The other lights in the chamber went off, to remain only the illumination burning from the candles all around us.

"Bring them in." I ordered.

My men marched out and they filed back in immediately with sixteen men and there was someone shorter at the end, the last person to come in.

Looking closer, I realized it was actually a...lady?

I squinted at the girl in the blue cloak as they were organized in lines. They were all guided to kneel. The last person to do so was Riley, who had on the hooded cloak that looked heavy and thick on her small frame. I knew she was the one. I got her the damn dress she was wearing under the ragged looking cloak.

What was she doing among the niubbos? (Newbies)

My eyes met with Keanu's and he shrugged his shoulders, adjusting his mask so he would escape the scrutinization of my deathly gaze.

I stepped down and went to meet my godfather who had tobacco in his hand and was just observing all what we were doing. I picked his left hand and kissed his tiger crested ring.

"Godfather."

"Godson. Are you ready?" He asked me and I nodded.

"Yes, godfather. I am."

He stepped up and took my previous position. My men got into action and arranged all that was needed.

Godfather came to stand beside me and his expression turned dark and focused.

"Welcome to this honorable occasion, brothers, associates, wives and outsiders. As we all know, the coronation of Luciano Morello the third, will be taking place along with the initiation of the niubbos. The Morello organized crime family started almost three hundred years ago, when Alvan Morello, one of the pure initiates established the mafia in Italy. The crime family has been upholding the Regola della mafia e stile di vita, till the time of Josef and Mariana Morello, who were murdered in cold blood just a few years after Josef started ruling. Even after several obstacles were put in the way of the heir, Luciano Morello, he has overcome all and now standing tall as the new appointed Mafioso leader. "Godfather?" I replied. He motioned for me to step forward and I did.

"Bend the knee."

I did so. He was given a stainless bowl consisting of a red substance and a small saucer bowl consisting of...meat.

"This here is the blood of your betrayer. The same one who conspired with the enemies to end you all those years ago but eventually failed to do so. Your very own adopted uncle, who ate meat and drank wine at the table with your parents. Drink his blood and repeat after me."

A cup was used to scoop the red liquid and passed onto me. I accepted it and took a sip.

"I- fill in your name and your parents name, boy."

"I Luciano David Morello, the heir of Josef and Mariana Morello."

"Accept the blood and flesh of my very own household enemy, who turned his back against family."
