Y'all might dislike the beast in this chapter. He has his reasons for doing what he did. Don't hate him too much. 😊

Luciano's POV

*

After showering, I stepped out with a towel around my waist and entered my walk in closer so I could put on some clothes.

I stepped back out and looked towards the bed where Riley was sitting but when I saw how quiet she was. Because her gaze was fixed on the phone. She didn't even notice me walking in and out of the room.

I glared at the device in her hands, wondering what was so important in it that it had her full attention.

"Riley. Is anything the matter?"

She muttered something under her breath, shaking her head.

"Come again?" I asked her.

She raised her head to glare hotly at me. I noticed her eyes were red. Had she been crying?

"Why did you do it?" She asked hotly.

"Huh?" A frown marred my face once again. "Do what?"

"Dan. Why did you kill him?" She asked and my heart skipped a beat at the look in her eyes.

Silence descended upon us for a few seconds.

How did she find out?

"You knew how much I loved him. You must've known, since you've apparently known me for so long. Do you know how I constantly had nightmares? How could you, beast?! He was my first boyfriend ever. My best friend. The person I was close to." She screamed, the tears pouring down her cheeks as her lips wobbled.

My heart skipped another beat and I felt the foreign emotion.

Guilt.

Who told her?

Did he contact her? Or was it the woman that told her?

It would be risky to jump to conclusions when I still wasn't sure of who told her I did it. I would have to find out without directly asking her.

I wracked my brain for what to say because I knew women were like a ticking time bomb. One wrong move and they could explode.

At least that was how it stated in the dating manual.

What do you say when you've mistakenly wronged someone?

"I'm sorry." I muttered, gulping because it felt so hard to say those words. For her though, I would say them and mean them.

Her eyes widened and she jumped off the bed, her chest heaving. Marching towards me, she raised her fists and started punching me, her expression livid.

"How could you?! I hate you Luciano! I fucking despise you, you monster! Why did you kill him? What did he ever do to you?! What do you mean by you're sorry? He was right all along! You killed my Dan!" she sobbed, her body trembling and veins popping as she kept hitting me.

Having enough of it, I grabbed her wrists. "Enough! Stop crying! He's dead!"

I couldn't contain the displeasure that courses through me when she kept sobbing for that idiot.

She gasped and stared at me as if I called her a bitch. Then she quietened down but her lower lip was still wobbling, her eyes wide.

"Calm down Riley. He's dead already, I know you're upset but calm down."

"What? He's dead? Is that what you're supposed to say? Because of what you did, I still have nightmares. I still talk to a therapist online because I keep seeing Dan in my dreams. A complete stranger knows about the things happening in my goddamn life just because of your own reckless acts!"
