Luciano's POV

*

My gaze didn't move from Riley as the doctor checked on her. She was as pale as a sheet and her lips were too white for my liking.

I heaved a sigh, shaking my head.

She'd finally remembered everything.

My girl finally came back to me. To us.

But I knew that this was the time to fight the hardest battle. Because she told me few minutes ago that she was the one that killed her mum. It was surprising but I obviously couldn't rule out the possibility of this happening.

Still, we needed to find out exactly what happened.

She'd been looking for her mum for so long, from the very tender age of fifteen when girls of her age were more particular about their hair, make-up and highschool crush. Her mum divorced her dad when she was thirteen but they were still civil towards each other but all of a sudden, Riley and her family couldn't contact her mom anymore.

No one heard anything about her since then.

I wondered where Riley could've found her mum and even shot her? Did it happen when she was kidnapped? That was the only time she was out of touch from us and we'd then gotten an Intel to Riley's location from a private source three days after the kidnap.

Riley had finally been found but she couldn't remember anything from the day she was kidnapped to the present day.

She only knew she was supposed to be meeting up with me the next day for a date and we'd all agreed to only continue our private investigation on the case since the doctor said she'd gone through something horrible

Things had been peaceful for a few days.

Until Fred randomly mentioned their mum and she'd lost it, breaking and shattering things and screaming, even picking a knife and swinging it at me when I tried to calm her down. We had to sedate her and she'd slept for two days extra than the hours she was supposed to spend sleeping.

When the doctor examined her, he made us know she didn't want to wake up from that unconscious place she'd slipped into but we had to constantly be around her so she wouldn't wake up and try to harm herself.

Then she'd woken up without any memories and that was when we came up with the Dan idea, which worked. It was surprising how the mind worked. She created ideas about people and things herself, her life in an orphanage, her mum being a druggie, her dad dying, everything.

I placed her hand in my large ones, gently rubbing it. The others were waiting outside because we didn't know what state she would wake up in and we didn't want to trigger her.

"How is she?" I asked when the doctor was done.

"She's been stabilized for now but we'll have to put her under strict observation. It's good you have a bodyguard outside in case she has an episode like when you first brought her here."

"I hope she doesn't."

"Either ways, she'll need to see a psychiatrist for some examinations. And also, the hypnotic session will no longer be performed till we're sure there's a need for it. From what you've told me, we don't know if she created that memory that made her block her whole life out or if it truly happened."

"I understand. Thanks." I shook his hand and he left. Then I sat back on the chair and took her hand in mine, feeling her temperature.

Riley slept all through the night and didn't wake up till eleven am the next morning.
