My shout out goes to Colorado and Denver 😍
Riley's POV
*
I stretched lazily and yawned, opening my eyes and wondering where I was. The ceiling looked familiar and blinking, I realized I was in Beast's room.
I covered my mouth with the back of my hand, yawning again.
But immediately I turned on my side, my heart jolted at the sight of cold, expressionless eyes staring back at me.
Beast was in bed, facing me with his head propped up on his hand, supported by his elbow which was resting on the bed.
I blinked and sat up quickly, running my palms over my face in hopes that there was no drool running down my cheek. That would really be embarrassing.
"Did you sleep well? It looks like you did." He commented, not taking his eyes off me even though I'd just caught him staring at me as I slept.
"Uh-- yes, I did. I-- how long was I asleep?" I frowned.
"Let's say two hours." His naturally cold eyes stared into mine as he replied.
"Oh."
"Hmm. You did weird things, like talking in your sleep, farting very loudly and even sticking your butt in the air." He commented randomly and got off the bed, picking his phone.
My tongue was tied as I stared at him in panic.
Did I really do those things in my sleep? He was never one to joke around with words so I couldn't tell if he was lying.
But I slept facing the ceiling and I woke up in the same sleeping position.
I couldn't help my reaction as I thought had about his words and felt blush spreading up my face.
"Yes?" He spoke to whoever he'd was on a call with.
He turned around and motioned for me to come and I got off the bed.
"Hmm. Get the hotel evidence and the orphanage documents." He stated, sitting on a three foot height stool.
He motioned for me to step closer and I did, fiddling with the helm of my shirt in curiosity.
"No, everything. The pictures and footages of the kids, yes everything. Do a background check on the owner too. Hmm. All affiliations. Okay." He dropped the call and focused on me, patting his thigh with an unspoken order for me to sit on it.
I shook my head, feeling bashful to sit in such a position but he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me to him.
"Sit." He ordered and I awkwardly did as instructed, avoiding his eyes.
He said I did all those things in my sleep and then he still wanted me to sit on his thigh.
Did that mean he had no issues with it?
I shook my head and wondered where all my self confidence suddenly went, mentally berating myself for feeling this way though I couldn't help it.
"Did I really do all those things in my sleep?" I asked and looked at his chest.
I couldn't even say the actual words.
He chuckled. It sounded dark and...evil but I knew better than to be alarmed.
"Yes."
"Oh." I blushed even harder.
"Maybe I do those things in my sleep too. We're humans, so it's normal. Do you feel embarrassed?" He asked gently and I nodded again, a bit surprised at the gentleness in his tone.
