Twenty minutes after confirming where several things were in this humongous room, I heaved a deep sigh and stood at the center. The theme of the room was peach and lemon.
Electronic appliances were all on the left part of the room, not far from the door while on the far right was the fairly parted windows and two couches were backing the windows.
There were clothes in the walk in closet and those clothes were exactly my size.
Encouraged now by the fact that I had something to change into after showering, I moved towards the door and locked it with the ancient lock behind it.
Then I looked around, subconsciously glancing around the four corners and then at the light bulbs, just in case cameras had been installed on them.
I looked down when I didn't spot any camera and fought the temptation of heaving a deep sigh.
If there was someone watching me, I believe that with this act of mine, they wouldn't know I'd just been looking out for cameras.
I took a plain blue shirt and baggy shorts from the several amount of clothes that were in the wardrobe, frowning as I picked a pantie from the closet. They all had price tags on them and they were of different categories.
There were thongs, g-strings, granny panties, boxer briefs which were my size and boxer shorts. If I didn't know better, I'd have said all these had been bought specifically for me.
Walking into the en-suite, I hugged my clothes tightly to my shirt.
The place was sparkly clean with peach walls, bathtub and toilet seat. There was a small cloth hanger on the left and a towel still wrapped in its nylon was sitting calmly on it.
I locked the door and heaved a shaky breath, tearing the transparent nylon off the towel.
'You're doing great Riley, don't let them see how panicked or scared you are. You'll get through this and have a happy life. The kind you dreamt off when you were little. I promise.' I murmured softly to myself and rotated my shoulders.
Stripping, I picked the loofah and just stood for a second.
Then I got into the tub and found my way around running water in it, which wasn't hard. It was just that, I'd never seen a real bathtub in my life and the ones I'd seen on TV weren't this large.
I got in and applied the bathing gel on the loofah before slowly washing up. When I was done, I rested my back and decided to just stay that way for a while.
Without thinking of where I was or the kind of people that had me under their care now. My mind slowly drifted to Rex and Roxy.
Did they know I was no longer at home? They'd have obviously noticed my absence. Were they looking for me? Had they filed a complaint at the police station?
Guilt ate me up. I wanted to tell them about myself but I knew I couldn't. I wasn't just some girl that'd been adopted by their neighbors.
I had lots of monsters tangled up with me and I'd never risk their lives that way. They had a normal teenage upbringing and they were doing bright as young adults but I couldn't say the same for myself.
This was my baggage and I had to keep carrying it around.
Heaving a deep sigh, I got out of the bathtub and toweled dry. Then I changed in the bathroom and got out feeling a bit better than before.
I pressed the red button close to the light switch like Keanu had told me to do if I needed help with the maids.
I just stood at the entrance and surprisingly enough, there was a knock in less than two minutes later. I pulled back the hook of the lock and moved back for the person to come in.
