Luciano's POV
*
"Soldiers, gather up!"
Each and every one of them left what they were doing, putting it off because they knew the time they'd been anticipating for the past few months had finally come.
This was one of the things I loved the most in my line of duty. The fightings. The killings. The constant bloodshed, the adrenaline pumping, the cries and screams of our enemies as we would go about bullet fighting and slaughtering them all.
This was my life.
And it felt so damn good to be back in it after a long time merely sitting in the office and doing some damn paperwork. Things needed to be set straight because some rumors had been going around the underground about me and how I was a changed person who has found love and wanted to be a family man and bla bla bla shit.
They had no idea that I went low for a period. Like a fisherman who needed to bait the fishes and then strike after they git stuck into the hook. With no chance of escape.
It was time to start forking them out. They even had the audacity to come over to my home and try to invade. They forgot who the king of the city was. The one that called the damn shots!
This was what I was born into.
The mafia. The omerta, the brotherhood. I was born to be a mafia Lord.
I was born to rule.
I was born to reign.
I was born to lead, and lead, I will!
My men all looked at me as I stood to my feet and they all lined up in front of me, standing at ease.
"If you know you've left your family at home, or your wife, or that sweet girlfriend you can't stop thinking about, or your new born baby, or your dog Bruno, I'll advise you to step aside right now."
Their gazes hardened as they stared at me.
"I repeat, If you know for a damn fact that you left your family which you'll keep thinking about at home, or your sweet, loving wife, or that sweet girlfriend you can't stop thinking about, or your new born baby, which you don't want to grow up fatherless, I'll advise you to step out right now."
None of them did, their eyes shining with determination.
"Good. Because we are going out there to fight. To war with the enemy. It's either your life or theirs. So I need your hundred percent assurance that you won't spend the time on the battle thinking about those you're leaving behind. They'll be right here when you get back. Let your heart, your soul and your body connect fully to the mission on ground and don't let any distractions invade your mind. Is that clear?"
"Yes capo!" They chorused.
Tito stepped forward. Whenever Keanu and Dennis weren't around, he usually stepped up as my second in command. Along with him, Nico or Rico could also take the post if the other party was on an assignment.
"Get your arms and get prepared on the long journey. I'll meet you all in ten." I told him, knowing he would delegate the necessary duties for out transportation to the rest and then I walked out.
I'd been working on a particular organization for the past few days. Myself, Dennis, Marco Amelia's husband and Keanu had been assisting me in throw own ways and we'd finally cracked the case.
