Riley's POV
*
There was so much laughter and celebration going on. The party was taking place in a large hall. I couldn't see any of the niubbos or the girls that later joined us for our trainings, even though we'd stopped training for two days because we would be leaving soon and everyone would be assigned into several posts.
Maybe they weren't invited.
I had looked forward to this party.
But Beast wasn't here.
My mood was going sour by the second since I got here.
I realized beast wouldn't be attending and thank goodness Noah somehow understood I wouldn't be in a good mood and didn't try to initiate any conversation with me after we chatted for a bit.
Freya, Ingrid's other cousin and Massimo's younger sister had Noah all to herself and I couldn't be more grateful. She kept sneaking glances at me, as if wondering if I would be upset with what she was doing but what she didn't know was that I was even grateful for the attention she was giving him.
She was in a short deep red bodycon dress and her black hair was in a sleek bun, showing off her long beautiful neck. And she knew how to show it off, with how she was constantly giggling and craning it every now and then.
Noah's eyes were also constantly moving to the spot, and that made me glad that she had his undivided attention.
It would lessen the guilt I felt for making Noah bring me here and then outright ignoring him.
Ingrid cat-walked over in her short white dress and four inch heels, giving me a flabbergasted look. Smiling at the two people beside me who were lost in their own conversation, she grabbed my arm and literally dragged me away.
"Slow down! I'm in a five inches heel." I whispered harshly, taking part of my irritation out on her since she convinced me that coming to this party would make Beast jealous. But where was he?
No where near this venue!
"Okay, what's wrong? Why do you look like someone snatched your man? You're not even giving Noah any attention and now my cousin has all his attention."
"I-- the Beast is not here." I pursed my lips grimly, feeling very bad for even thinking of coming to this darned party to get his attention. It was such a flop.
The man I wanted was nowhere to be seen!
"Will you chill? He's coming."
"No he isn't." I rolled my eyes. It had been two hours. A lady could only wait for so long.
"I saw him just now, and Dennis is back. They're together." Pink tainted her cheeks a little but I was too excited to ask why she was blushing.
"Dennis is here? Where?" I looked around, feeling my mood uplift due to the news.
"Hey! Focus on your Beast." She frowned and I gave her a weird look.
"Why? Jealous?" I taunted and left her there, not before seeing her look away when I asked if she was jealous. Wait, was she jealous of my relationship with Dennis?
I shrugged as I looked around excitedly, deciding to think about it later.
Immediately I spotted Dennis, I raised my dress so it wouldn't get stuck in my heel and make me trip. Then I ran forward to meet him.
"Dennis!" I screamed and threw myself into his arms.
Dennis, who was talking to a pretty lady beside him looked around in confusion at the sound of someone screaming his name and made an omph sound, opening his arms at the last second when I attacked him.
