Riley's POV
*
I left the room on the third day of staying indoors and binge watching movies repeatedly like a zombie. I didn't understand what was happening anymore and I knew I needed to do something about myself before it became too late.
I couldn't stay in this huge house all my life, time wasn't on my side.
I had to get out there and maybe get some work so I'd make money and go to college. Maybe I could even look for my mom when I get financially buoyant and have her live with me. Right now though, my life would be the perfect example of what one could call 'stagnant.'
Getting out of bed, I did my morning rites quickly and left the room. I wouldn't be getting the maids to do anything for me today. I would do things myself!
I went down the stairs and looked around. Looking at the several corners of the large house told me there were at least five CCTV cameras installed in here alone.
Sighing, I went back up to pick slippers from the shoe rack where there were newly arranged shoes. I'd checked everything the first day I got here. All the shoes in their varieties and kinds were new and had never been worn.
I picked out a hairband from the vanity table as well and left the room again. I was in grey yoga pants and a white plain top. That would be conservative enough for such a place where I'd only seen stern looking men hanging around.
There was no one in the kitchen when I got in and I took my time to survey the whole place while lazily putting my hair up into a bun. It was large, and beautifully furnished with all the necessities a grand looking kitchen should possess. The plates were in a plate rack and they were all sparkling white. There were glass cups hanging on a holder, and the spoons were gold and heavy. I knew merely by eyeing and weighing the spoons that they were of good quality.
I looked at the beautifully transparent counter and then admired the six burners gas cooker. I never knew a gas cooker could have so many burners and the sight alone brought a smile to my face. With money, one could indeed afford lots of really nice things.
I used to love practicing new dishes every now and then with my foster mom. I'd always been in love with the idea of having my own place and later coming home to prepare my own dishes. Doing what I love, how I loved it and even Roxy and Rex knew me to be a very experimental person.
The thought of them had me stilling. They must be worried sick about me since I'd not been around for days and I currently didn't even have any means through which I could reach them.
I released a shaky breath and lost my enthusiasm for the beautiful decors in this kitchen. It didn't take me long to search for oats, which I prepared in a hurry before gobbling it down without a care in the world.
I began taking steps up the stairs but shook my head. I'd go crazy if I spent one more day in that room like I'd done all along. With that thought in mind, I made my way towards the entrance door.
I stood there and stared at it, remembering how I'd been screaming for it to let me out the day I was kidnapped and it had refused to do so!
"Open." I ordered skeptically.
"Hello Riley, I hope you had a restful night. You may pass, and please enjoy your day." The female automated voice stated. Then the door opened slowly and my eyes widened at the sight of freedom.
Stepping out, a beam stretched across my face as I took in the beautiful garden. It was so beautiful and warm feeling under the brightness of the sun. I caught sight of several bodyguards stationed in their various posts.
