*AVNI'S POV*

Feeling so restless and uneasy, I kept changing my side on the bed... It was 4 in the morning, the sun hasn't rose yet but there I was anxious and sweaty because, actually I don't know why... Yesterday night was the most amazing night, I sang and danced in front of hundreds of people... I lived my dream and yet I am restless... So, I got up and decided to meditate for a while, I breathe in and breathe out to calm my nerves but nothing helped... Then, I decided to go and splash some water on my face... But as soon as I entered the washroom I felt this pit in my stomach and I threw up... God what is this smell... I wondered as I covered my nose... Ooh it's jasmine, my favorite scent... Oh no my daughter doesn't like this smell... Great, the sickness has begun...

-THE NEXT MORNING-

I first need to go to the studio for listening to yesterday's reviews and collecting the 'salary'. I was promised the sum amount of 20,000 which is double the amount I earn in the cafe in a month... So, this band is a win win... And then for a lunch with my brother- Jai... I was finally doing what I love and I no longer have to be ashamed and regretful, I could finally meet my brother with my head up and know that I don't bring him shame... Anyways, I reached the studio and our manager was pretty impressed by the performance... He told how the concert was a success and how we have already got another offer from a college in Pune... After that, we were given our pay cheque.. We were just going to open the envelope when Siddharth's phone rang, he excused himself and went out... He seemed a little lost today, he has blanked out twice from last 1 hour... I tried asking him, but got no satisfactory reply... Maybe he is worried about something and I should give him privacy... he himself will tell me when he feels right to... And with that I took out my cheque... Wait!! This isn't how much I was suppose to get... It was 20,000 and not 40,000...

Avni: Amey (manager) I think you made a mistake, the cheque says 40,000...

Amey: We got a huge profit, so I thought of raising everyone's share...

Avni: Raising it to double?

Amey: Yes, after all it was a great show plus your debut and you were great... You deserve this...

Avni: But-

Sumedh: Even I got 40... We all got 40... It's quite normal to get more than what you have been promised... Relax...

Avni: Oh Okay...

The amount in my hand is beyond my imagination... I couldn never expect to get so much with just 1 concert... And I couldn't be more grateful... If this continues, maybe I will be able to rent a decent flat... And a smile formed on my face with that... When Siddharth return and opened his envelope... My eyes went to amout and got widen in shock... My jaw drops as I couldn't believe what I saw...

Avni: How much did you get Siddharth?

Sid: 40... Why?

Avni: No didn't...

Sid: I did...

He said sliding the cheque in the envelope...

Avni: If that's the case, show me...

Sid: What? Why should I? I told you how much I got... And its bad manners...

Avni: Don't act so oversmart... Give me the check...

Sid: No, I won't why would I lie...

Ayush: Exactly, why would he lie?

Madhav: We all get equal amout and it's 40 this time... There is no need to looking at each others pay cheque...

Avni: If that's the case then show me the cheque... What are you afraid of?

Sid: I won't...

With that he got up and I got up too, to snatch the cheque from his hand but he ran... And I chased him... We ran inside the studio as kids run while playing... And I am tired already... Does this man remmember I am carrying a baby? It's difficult to run when you gain 5 pounds... IDEA 💡

Avni: Ahhh...

I screamed and Sid came running to me, along with other boys...

Sid: Avneet careful yaar... Are you fine?

And I gave him an innocent smile before snatching the cheque and running away from them , so that they couldn't snatch the cheque back from me...

Sid: You *struggling to find a suitable word* Dramatic liar...
.
And I poked my tongue out before looking at his cheque...

Avni: Why does it say 15 instead of 40?

Sid: Beacuse I took an advance...

Amey: Yes, that is why he is getting less now...

Avni: Guys don't lie... Sumedh, Ayush, Madhav show me your cheques

And there was silence next... he was lying... he didn't get any advance... but then why do I get mo- *sudden realization*...

Avni: Did you guys give me your share?

And there was silence again...

Avni: Guys please say something... Did you gave me your share?

Sid: Avneet we thought you needed money...

Avni: I wasn't this desperate... Are you guys crazy or what? You can't give me 1/4th of your share... I can't accept this...

Amey: The show was a hit, and most of the credit goes to you... We desperately needed a female singer and if you weren't there , we might had to cancel the show... You are working so hard, even in pregnancy... Can't we give this much to you?

Avni: Guys it's- I- It's not...

But I couldn't speak further... So I just went to them and extended my arms, and the boys smiled before hugging me... It's not the money, i got from joint this group, I got friends and family... the gesture they made was overwhelming... And I felt so grateful, so so grateful to be the part of Accidental Moguls...
