My grip on my hatchet tightened. I really couldn't read Horror, father, whoever I should call him by, right now. He's been loyal to Nightmare for as long as I've known him in both my lives. Was he going to kill me again, or try to? Or was he going- he dropped his ax. "i'm not gonna fight ya bitter, not this time." Carrot had readied himself for a fight too, but now we were both caught off guard. "You won't?" He shook his head. "... the reason i started this job, was to feed my family. at this point, either way, you were going to die.. nightmare wants you dead. i can't allow that. i can find another way to feed papyrus and you, but i'm not letting my son die.." Father.. Horror.. "he's serious?" Carrot asked. "Dead serious. He's betraying Nightmare." I lowered my weapon. "so what's next? have a way out of here?" He was still very on guard, all three of them were, but he trusted my judgment. Father Horror shook his head. Stars what do I call him? "I'd actually catch him up on things."

"catch me up?" Horror looked around. He was impressed with the work I did here. He wouldn't say it though, he knew how I felt about it. "on what?" He turned his attention to me. Carrot stayed quiet. It was my secret to tell. "Well.. um.. you actually killed me before.." How else was I supposed to say it? Even if I beat around the bush, we'd get to that bit eventually. "what? even in your training i'd never come close to killing you." He laughed, though it was laced with guilt. It could've been because Carrot was here. It could've been because of my appearance as Blueberry. It could be both. But Father Horror wasn't stupid. The pieces were connecting. "Have you ever wondered why I look so much like him? Why I'm so against killing? Why I was so afraid of you? Why I can't use shortcuts? I was him. I was Blueberry." I explained. Horror flinched. He might have known that all along, but pushed it away. Kept telling himself that it was impossible, but nobody ever saw his soul break. "..." He didn't know what to say. What could he say? Bitterberry.. Blueberry.. he had every reason to hate him. "i'm sorry.."

I've never been one to hold a grudge. I knew exactly why he'd done it, too. "i'm sorry? that's all you've got to say to him? you killed my brother. do you know how much trauma that probably caused him, because i know i went through hell." Carrot seethed quietly. Horror's sockets closed. "the nightmares.. of course.." Horror avoided eye contact, choosing to look at the dust covered snow. "fate is cruel. no matter what i say, i know it will never make up for my actions, so why say anything at all?" Carrot faltered and looked at me. Horror made sense. "I forgave you, but I cannot forget what's been done." I responded slowly. "For what it's worth, you made a great father." I laughed a little. "But know that I'm aware of both lives, I don't know what to call you.." Horror's skull snapped up. "you're kidding." Carrot was watching, and sighed. "of course you forgave him. should i have expected anything else from you?"
"NOPE!" I beamed and Horror shook his head in bewilderment. "something just occurred to me bro." I peered at Carrot. "Hm?"
"i'm the older brother now." My jaw dropped as I realized he was right. "AH! YOU'RE RIGHT!"

🌑🌒🌓🌕🌔🌖🌗🌘

Horror started laughing, finding that comical. The atmosphere had lightened considerably. "Seriously though, do I keep calling you father, or do I call you by your name?" The bloody skeleton shrugged. "i don't know. i've never been in this situation before."
"uh, nobodies been in this situation before. as far as i know, blue's the first."
"Let's just call it as it is. You call me Bitter and I call you father. That is the life I'm living now."
"well i'm still calling you blue. your my brother." Carrot stated. "That's fair, you've known me better as Blue."
"now that that's settled.. what's are next moves?" We looked at one another.
