CHAPTER 13: ROMANCE AND A DINNER DATE

Tom was worried about Sydney being in town when the trial began.  He didn't want anyone with the organization targeting her, or finding out where she was. He was talking to Doug and Judy about it, and Judy told him maybe he should take her on a trip. They had only been dating a few weeks.  

On their second date Tom took her to the bowling alley.  She didn't know how to bowl, so he tried to help her, and then she watched him bowl.   The third date they went to the movies  Sydney wanted to fix Tom a big dinner.  

Tom said "Sydney what would you like to do tonight. I was kind of hoping we could have our 4th date. So I will take you anywhere you want to go."  She said "Um Tom I was kind of hoping that we could stay home tonight."  Tom said "sure you want to order delivery?"  Sydney said "well no actually I was wanting to cook for you if it's ok." Tom said "Sydney you don't have to do that, but it's fine if you want to. I was kind of hoping we could talk."  Sydney said "What's up."  Tom said "well we can talk about it tonight ok."  She said "yeah ok."  She was a little worried. That maybe Tom was deciding he didn't want to date her any more. "  Sydney said "Tom can you take me to the store so I can get groceries for tonight"  He said "sure let's go."  Judy called and wanted to know if Sydney wanted to go to the mall with her. So they went shopping.  Sydney said "Judy thanks for taking me to the mall. I was kind of wanting to go out."  Judy laughed.  She said "Sure so Hanson driving you crazy?"

Sydney laughed.  She said "no not at all. I am actually going to make him dinner tonight. We have had 3 wonderful romantic dates, and I was wanting to fix him dinner. He's been so sweet to me."  She said "romantic dates huh, you told me about the first one, but the second and third, where did you go?"  Sydney said "Bowling for the second."  Judy said "dang girl you really have it bad for him huh"  They laughed.  Sydney said "how did you know"  Judy said "Well Hanson loves bowling, but if you think that bowling is romantic then that's pretty bad. I mean most all girls would think it's a pretty lame date."  Sydney laughed.

Judy said "So you like bowling huh"  Sydney said "no I have never bowled before.  I did horrible.  I made a fool of myself getting gutter balls."  Judy said "then how was it romantic?"  Sydney said "Well Tommy was so sweet. I told him if he wanted to laugh at me, it was ok, and he said that he thought I was doing pretty good for first time bowling, and then he offered to help me."

Judy said "ahem help you huh, so I take it he thought helping you would entail being behind you, and his arms around your waist."  They laughed.  Sydney said "yes it was awesome being in his arms like that.."  Judy said "ok so date number three."  Sydney said "we went to this cafe and it was so cozy, and then we went to the movies, and Tommy held my hand going in and coming out, and during the movie, he put his arm around me."  Judy laughed.  So did Sydney. Sydney said "Then afterwards he took me for ice cream and we just sat and talked."

Judy said "So this is date number 4."  Sydney said "yeah I was excited, but now I'm a little worried."  Judy said "Worried about what?"  Sydney said "you know Tommy really good I mean you guys are close, like really close friends"  Judy said "yes he is one of my best friends, I think I'm probably one of his."

Sydney said "Judy I don't want to ask you to betray his confidence ok, but could you maybe just nod your head yes or no, if Tommy has talked to you about wanting to stop seeing me?"  Judy said "Girl what kind of question is that. No he hasn't, and no he doesn't."  Sydney said "you sure?"  Judy said "yeah I'm sure. Why would you think that?"  Sydney said "Well when I suggested I wanted to stay home and cook for him, he said it was good we stay home cause he had something he wanted to talk to me about. I think it must be serious, cause when I asked him what it was, we could talk now he said no wait till tonight."

Judy knew it was probably about taking me out of town for the trial.  She said "Sydney whatever it is, I wouldn't worry about it. Hanson is not wanting to stop seeing you.  I know that for a fact."  Sydney said "ok good thanks.  So will you help me find a really hot dress. I mean I want Tommy to think it's hot, but not want to make him think I well I don't want it to be suggestive or trashy" Judy said "got ya, let's find you the perfect dress."  Sydney found a red dress, it was not too short, sleeveless.
