CHAPTER 29: THE HANSON FAMILY

Tom was sitting on the bed watching Sydney sleep, and holding the baby.  Tom was kissing the baby's head.  Tom said "Thomas I am so happy to meet you my son. I'm so proud to be your dad. You have no idea how much your mommy loves you. You have the best mommy. I love you so much. You have the best grandma and she loves you so much, and you have the best grandpa, but he is in Heaven with your big sister.  I know my dad and your sister are always going to look out for you.

Sydney woke up.  She felt her stomach.  She said "Oh my God Tommy"  She started to get up.  Tom said "Baby what's wrong"  She said "The baby is gone, my baby is gone. Tommy"  Tom said "Baby it's ok he's right here. He's fine. I have him"  Sydney said "oh thank God.  I guess I was having a bad dream.  I had the baby and then they took him and never came back Tommy."  Tom said "Baby he's fine. He's perfect"  She said "Can I hold him?"  Tom said "of course"  Tom handed him to her.

Sydney cried.  She said "Thomas I love you so much baby"  She showered him in kisses.  Thomas made some noises.  Tom said "Son you're going to have to get used to that, I think your mommy is going to keep your head plenty wet."  Sydney said "Hanson are you making fun of me"  He said "no just teasing you a little.  But actually I've been kissing his head non stop too. I can't believe how beautiful and perfect he is."  Sydney said "yeah"

Tom said  "dammit I'm sorry baby."  Sydney said "What?"  Tom said "That didn't come out right"  Sydney said "What didn't, he is beautiful Tommy"  Tom said "yeah I know but Isabella was. I'm sorry. I didn't mean she wasn't the most beautiful baby"  Sydney said "Tom I know that, I wasn't thinking that."  Tom said "ok it was just you only said yeah"  Sydney said "I'm sorry I was just. Tommy I'm worried. Do you think Thomas is ok?"  Tom said "yes he's fine."  Sydney said "But he's early, and he's not crying Tommy"  Tom said "Baby he got a clean bill of health, passed all his tests, he's fine. He cried a lot during the tests ok"  Sydney said "Did they hurt him, what did they do?"  Tom said "Sydney it's fine. He's fine. He's not crying now cause he's  happy and content with his mommy, he's been fed by his mommy"  Sydney said "When should I feed him again"  Tom said "baby I'm sorry, you want me to go see if my mom's here, maybe she can give you advice. I don't know anything about babies. You're going to have to teach me everything"  Sydney said "I hope I fed him right. What if he didn't get"  Tom said "Sydney he got the milk, you did perfect baby"  Sydney said "Tommy I've never taken care of a little baby like this. I have baby sat but, older kids.  What if I can't take care of him right?"  Tom said "Sydney don't worry about it baby. you are perfect."  Tom kissed her forehead.

Sydney said "I love him so much Tommy. I mean I still ache over Isabella, and she has a big part of my heart, but Tommy I love him. I can't bear it if something happens to him"   Sydney was crying.  Tom said "Baby I know, but he's fine. He's here, and I'm going to make sure that you and Thomas are protected.  I' will hire more security to watch our place. I am not going to leave you two alone ok. I promise you baby. Thomas and you will be safe."  Sydney kissed Tom.  She said "you are the best daddy. To Isabella, and to Thomas."  Tom kissed her.  he said "You are the best mommy."   Thomas started crying.  Sydney said "aw baby mommy is here."  Tom said "maybe he is hungry again?"  Sydney said "Let's see can you help me get my robe off"  Tom said "yes."  He helped her.  Thomas was wanting fed.  Tom said "yep that is what he wanted. I guess baby you have your answer. Thomas will let you know when he is hungry huh"  Sydney said "yes I guess."  Tom said "You want me to leave or"  Sydney said "if you aren't comfortable"  Tom said "it's not that, I just don't want to intrude on your time with him"  Sydney said "It's fine."  Tom said "I'll go check and see if mom is out there ok."  Sydney said "ok."  Tom said "I love you"  Tom kissed her.  She said "I love you too"

Doug said "Well there's dad"  Tom smiled.  Judy said "how's the baby and Sydney"  Tom said "Good. Sydney fell asleep and then had a bad dream, that something happened to the baby. She woke up panicked."  Doug said "well Congrats Tom. Can't wait to meet your son."  Tom said "yeah I'm sorry. I should have had you guys come in.  Harry said "Hanson no you just take care of Sydney and your baby"  Tom said "I want you guys to see him. he's beautiful. Is my mom around"  Doug said "yeah she went with Judy and Dennis to eat."  Tom said "oh ok. I'm gonna go back to Sydney. She is feeding him. I wanted to give her some privacy."
