CHAPTER 33: OUR ANGEL BABY

Margaret came upstairs. She said, "honey I just wanted to see if I could do anything for you."  Sydney went to Margaret and hugged her crying.

Margaret said, "I'm so sorry. I know how close you are to Dennis."

Sydney was shaking.  Sydney said, "Can you take Thomas, I need to fix his diaper bag to take with us. I'm sorry it's not that I don't trust you, I just can't leave him. I need him with me."

She said, "I understand that."

Sydney was crying. She said, "I've been trying to fix his diaper bag, but"

She said, "here let me do that, you just sit and hold your baby."

Sydney said, "Margaret I don't want to upset you, but did Tom tell you um about"

She said, "your dream yes. Honey that dream was a miracle. It saved my son from being there and being shot."  Sydney cried.  Margaret cried too and hugged her.

Tom came into the room.  Seeing both his mom and Sydney hugging and both in tears.  He tried to control his emotions, but the sight made him have tears.

Sydney said, "Tommy."  He said, "you sit down, I'll come to you."  He went over to her and she hugged him and cried on his shoulder.  

Tom said, "Sydney I'm so sorry. About Booker. I know how much you love him."

She said, "Tommy if he doesn't make it, it will be my fault. I'm too blame for this. I'm to blame for them wanting you killed, your life is in danger because of me If you would be shot Tommy I can't lose you. Thomas needs you he can't lose you. I'm so scared for you. And it is my fault."

Tom said, "Baby no, don't say that. That is not true. I was on this case, way before you were. I was trying to bust them. I went undercover, joined his group, became one of them. It was only a matter of time, before they found out I was a cop, then I would have had a hit on me. You were doing your job Sydney. It's not your fault that Booker was shot."

Sydney said, "yes it is. Because of me, he went in there to get revenge, and to save me."

Tom said, 'Sydney because he loves you. Because he's a good man, a good cop. Who has your back."

Sydney said, "Tommy if you would have went today."

Tom said, "I didn't go. Because of you. Because of your dream, and Sydney I have to believe that you had that dream just to save me."

Sydney said, 'Thank God."  Tom kissed her cheek and forehead, then kissed Thomas.

She said, "Can you take Thomas for me."  

Tom said, "all the guards are set, I'm taking some with us, and then having the others watch the house.  Whenever you are ready to leave."

Sydney said, "Tommy thank you for letting me go to the hospital. I know you'd rather I stay here and."

Tom said, "Sydney I knew you would want to be there."

Tom made sure it was safe, and then took Sydney and Thomas to the car.  His mom followed and got in the back seat, with the baby, so Sydney sat in the front seat with Tom.

Tom had guards drive in front of them and in back of them.

Sydney was crying.  Tom reached over and took her hand and held it.

Tom said, "Sydney I know how bad it is, but we just have to have hope, and not give up. Booker is a fighter."

Sydney said, "Do you think that it will upset Judy if I go to see him? I mean it's my fault"
