Sydney couldn't get it out of her head what Sabrina and Kate had told her, that they thought Booker was crushing on her.  Every time when she was at her desk, she did notice that if she looked up, he was looking at her, he would smile then look away.  She was a little upset about it, cause I mean she had to admit Dennis Booker was hot. He wore sleeveless tee shirts, which showed off his shoulders and muscles.  Way bigger than Steve was.  He wore cologne that smelled so good. His dark black hair.  She found herself daydreaming about him, thinking of all the things good about him, when she was jolted out of her day dream by Booker tapping on her shoulder saying "hey Sydney did you hear me"

Sydney said "oh hey Booker. I'm sorry what was that."  Booker said "hey you ok, I've been standing here trying get your attention."  Sydney said "yeah I was just thinking about something sorry."  He said "you ready to go."  Sydney said "What go where."  He said "Didn't you hear me, captain wants us in his office now."  She said "oh sorry."  He said "you sure you're ok."  She said "yeah I'm fine."

They were assigned another case.  The case was going good, but Booker had a gut instinct, that one of the guys who Sydney had thought was a victim, was actually lying and in on it.  Sydney had felt sorry for this kid, he had an abusive father, and had told Sydney and Dennis about how hard it was to be beaten up at home, never able to please his father, then get robbed and picked on by his friends.  Booker thought he was trying to con Sydney, into feeling sorry for him, when he thought that this kid was actually in on the crimes.

Booker was worried about Sydney because she felt sorry for this kid and wanted to help him turn his life around.  So Booker decided to go over to Sydney's to try and talk to her, tell her to just be careful around this kid.  Booker also wanted to take every opportunity he could to see her.  he was always suggesting they go to lunch.  He had never seen anyone as beautiful as Sydney.  Her smile lit up the room, definitely lit up his world.

Booker knocked several times and rang the bell.  he said to himself dang her car is here, I hope she doesn't have a date, I mean she has never mentioned having a man.  Sydney looked out the window and saw that it was Booker.  She unlocked the three deadbolts that she had on the door.  He had turned to go, but turned when he heard the door.  She said "hey sorry I wasn't expecting you. Took me a minute

He said "hey I'm sorry I didn't mean to bother you, I should have called."  She said "no it's ok. Come in. "  He said "I hope you didn't have plans, I mean no I hope I'm not interrupting your plans."  Sydney said "no I don't have any plans. Just curl up on the couch and try and find something on tv. Which is what I always do."  Booker said "That's great."  He smiled.  He said "I mean it's good I'm glad I didn't interrupt."  She said "can I get you well I don't have any beer, I don't drink beer so but I have pepsi"  He said "yes that is fine thanks."   He looked around her house.  He noticed the door with the three dead bolts plus a ring doorbell and security system

She came out.  He said "hey you got enough locks on that door"  She said "I just want to make sure I'm safe, I mean since I live alone and all. What did you need."  He said "oh I was hoping that maybe we could hang out tonight and get pizza so we could talk about our case.  I really have a gut instinct, and I may be wrong, but if there is any way that I could be right I'd rather be safe than sorry."  Sydney said "pizza sounds good. I'll order."

Sydney said "ok so safe than sorry what is your instinct."  He said "I think Bobby you shouldn't trust him I don't think his story is right."  Sydney said "you don't think he was abused. I mean you saw how his dad flipped out on him when he brought home a B plus."  Booker said "yeah I can believe his dad has abused him, wants him to be perfect in school, but I just don't think he's the victim that he's claiming."  Sydney said "But he was robbed and beaten up."  Booker said "we don't know that he was beaten by those thugs, I just get a feeling that he's not a victim, he's in on it, but he was the one who got caught by the cops."  Sydney said "I don't get that vibe, he seems sincere, but I don't know maybe you are right. I mean I trust your instincts."  Booker said "look maybe I'm wrong, but I don't want to see you get hurt, if he is dangerous then."  Booker reached out and touched her shoulder.  It caught her off guard and she jumped.
