Villainess II

People think I'm just a pretty princess

People think I'm some damsel in distress

Well, excuse me, but I'd like to digress

I may look delicate but I'm a tigress

I'm gonna be the quintessential new queen

But you'll have to excuse me for being a little mean

Been learning how to fight since I was thirteen

Now my skills with words and swords will be seen

I hear these days people call me a villainess

Well, I'm loving it, I have to confess

They talk behind my back but with me only say 'Your Highness'

It's so damn obvious what they think is 'slyness'

Standing under the moon, the night sky looks like a dream

My gold armor plate under the soft light gleams

I've always stood alone, sometimes I wish I had a team

But trustworthiness is a lot rarer than it seems

I first wrote this poem as a standalone, but I think it suits the Villainess character when she was in her youth. Not yet a queen, she hadn't seen everything the older version has, and thus has a slight smidge of arrogance, although she is already the skilled and brave badass we've seen before.
