The Dancer

50 11 2

We stand ahead of crossroads

We know the path we'll take

Minutes ago, our smile glowed

Now we both know it's fake

It was wondrous to meet you

It was wondrous to be your friend

I wish you could come with me, too

But all good things come to an end

At least, it feels like that right now

Do you think we'll survive?

They were jocular, the vows

But can we keep them alive?

You were a breath of fresh air

But they're forcing me back underwater

I'd complain about it being unfair

But I give up, it's life, who can fight her?

I guess I don't really have a choice

But can we meet again, someday?

Today, as teens, we don't have a voice.

But when we're older can we find a way?

Whatever happens in years yet to come

Know that I'll still be thinking of you

My friend, the dancer with warm hugs

Know that I'll still be in love with you

This poem is dedicated to my close friend, @Snow_Rose_25 . She is one of the most wonderful person I've ever met, and is extremely talented. Seriously, I can't name a single person with more talents than her. And yet she's the most humble person you'll meet. She's warm and funny, and just an absolute angel. In a month, we won't be in the same school anymore. Maybe we'll interact less, maybe we'll be able to keep our friendship...but whatever happens, I'll always love her in the depths of my heart.

P.S. Please vote and comment!

With love,
