I know

You ran behind the popular girls

But they saw you as just a funny guy

And I know I was the very first 

To see more than just a funny guy

But you pretended not to see me

As I followed you with my eyes

But I know very well, baby

You did, and I gave you butterflies

You think I don't

But I know it all

I haunt you

I know you still recall

Nervous eye contact

From across the room

Just a moment too long

And both our hearts zoomed

You tried your hardest to fit in

With that clique of 'cool' guys

But you just could not win

Cause you were always outshined

I know I was the only one

Who noticed you and your mind

And I gave you the attention

That you craved all your life

You think I don't

But I know it all

I haunt you

I know you still recall

Nervous eye contact

From across the room

We never confessed and now I'm

Regretful, reminiscing, as I crack

So maybe, could you please, come back?

This one is a sort of extension to my other poem High School Love Affair. It's the same characters. I've always wanted to write songs, so I tried writing this one in a Verse-Chorus-Verse-Chorus-Bridge-Chorus format, which I'm pretty sure is one of the most common ones in pop songs.
