Glass

53 12 1

Have you ever

seen glass shatter

From all of the

discreet forces

It stays intact

For a moment

And then one crack

Then a thousand

It will break, but

It will hurt you

It will draw blood

It will cut you

You will be stabbed

Right in the heart

Just like you did

Hope it kills you

Broken pieces,

They will still shine

Rainbow edges,

They are all mine

This poem is for those in my life who have hurt me knowingly. Once I give you my heart I'll usually take a lot of shit without a single complaint, and then I'll give you a single warning. And then I'll shatter, and I'll make sure every single one of the flying shards hits you. I'll make sure the wounds I inflict leave scars, an exchange for all the blood I lost because of you. I'll walk away and start a new life, but you'll never forget the day I shattered.
