Guess who's staying up to tap away at his phone, yup, that's right, me. (oh if you are going to ask, i'm pc meta sorry. but respect phone writers though, don't get me wrong.)

The next one on the boat is none other than the grem - detective herself, Amelia Watson!

The Keen Detective - Amelia Watson; 🔎

Y/N tossed and turned under the comfort of the warm duvet. Although it was warm and comfy, though, it was a little too warm and a little less comfy in reality. You finally decided to rest on your left arm and huffed. You woke up early this morning for no apparent reason and was attempting to fall back asleep.

No luck.

You groaned and slapped your nightstand, swatting your hand side to side, in hopes of reaching your phone. You felt the familiar edges of your device and you brought it up to your face. The screen lit up, sending a haptic click as it failed to identify your face, It required your passcode to use the feature again, which you subdued to its failure, and tapped your passcode.

The tiny empty dots were filled with white as you entered your digits, but on your last number, all the dots were filled, but shook and all the dots returned to being transparent.

Messed it up.

"Aw, fuck." You groaned.

"Hey Siri, call Amelia." You called out to your device.

"Sorry, I couldn't find Amelia in your contacts. Who do you want to call?" The robotic voice replied.

"You HAVE to be fucking with me." You took your phone in both hands this time and correctly entered your passcode. You scrolled through the Phone app to dial up Amelia, whose nickname on your phone was "ame stupid".

"Oh, that's why...c'mon. So much for a smartphone." You finally tapped on her contact and selected a FaceTime. You turned to lay on your back, arms spread out, as the phone rang. A sound played indicating the successful connection to the call.

"G'mornin', Y/N." The voice on the other end seemed soft and lightly strained.

"Morning to you too, Ame." You replied.

"What's up?"

"The ceiling." You joked.

"No, literally, that joke died ages ago."

"Touche, well, I can't sleep."

"Really? Have you tried knocking yourself out? Pretty good method, if I do say so myself."

"What? No. Nobody does that, Ame."

"Look, if I come over right now, and smack you in the head with a pan, there'd be no problem right?"

"Well, maybe cause you either killed me, or I'm out cold to even say it was."

"Exactly, cased closed."

"You sly, son of a gun." You remarked, Amelia giggled and took a sharp breath in.

"Right, hear me out will 'ya?"

"Yeah?" You were interested by her proposition, though, you instantly knew it could be something disastrous.

"I know we've been good friends for a while, and maybe - I was thinking that, um." She paused.

"Go on."

"I could repay you back for what you've done for me?"

"What do you mean?" You put your forehand on top of your forehead, awaiting for Amelia to elaborate.

"Well, I was wondering if you'd want to go out sometime."

Y/N and Amelia have gone out a couple times, mostly with the rest of the EN genmates, though, this was one of the exceptions where it was explicitly the both of you.

"Like on a date or something?" You inquired, your face felt slightly warm.

"No, to kill the Prime Minister, no Y/N, like on a date." She said bluntly.

"O-Oh. Uh, today?" She caught you off guard, as you stammered to find the right words to say.

"I mean, if you don't mind. If you can't, then I comple-"

"No! No, it's fine, I can do today."

"Oh, cool beans. I'll meet you outside your house in an hour?"

"Works for me, see you then."

"Last one out is a rotten egg!"

"Wha-?" Amelia hung up the call abruptly, as you sighed. Your heart was racing full of adrenaline and it only made it worse to lay still.

"Aw, damn."
