Welcome back. And of course with a (hopefully) warm end to the week.
Today, by request, we'll be introducing Ollie into this collection.
Enjoy.
...
The winter season finally rolled in, and frankly, you weren't loving it that much. No, it wasn't the cold, nor the incessant snow days. But rather your chaotic zombie girlfriend Ollie. Her personality for one was much to handle, but how vulnerable she was to the cold was another story.
And now you found yourself standing in front of a Lawson to buy some medicine.
"Welcome in!" The cashier waved at you, where you waved back.
The glasses you wore fogged up instantly, as the environment inside was warmer than the brisk outdoors. Stopping in the middle of the aisle, you took them off and pinched the lens with your hoodie pocket. After rubbing them for a good while you put them back on, for your breath to make them fog up again.
You held your right hand halfway to take your glasses off again. But you figured that you'll be wasting your time as Ollie would probably get worse the longer you stay away from her. You knew she could take care of herself - decently...
You quickly scanned the aisle for Tylenol and cough drops. Cough drops being in mass quantity, probably in good measure for the season, and Tylenol as a syrup. You grabbed both and walked towards the checkout counter. You caught a glimpse of nasal spray and you paused.
"She definitely doesn't need that..." You muttered.
You continued a few steps then paused. You looked back towards the foreboding white bottle, then back in front of you. You grimaced and turned around, grabbing the spray.
"She's definitely going to complain..." You settled on your three items and walked up to the counter.
"Thank you for your patronage!" The cashier waved as you left.
The drive home wasn't all too bad, traffic was mediocre at best. As you pulled into the driveway, you looked at the dashboard clock. It's been almost an hour since you've left Ollie. You switched off the engine and grabbed your - technically her things, and shut the door behind you. With a click on the fob, the car beeped and flashed.
"I'm home!" You called out into the seemingly empty house. You locked the door behind you and kicked off your shoes, dragging along the Lawson plastic bag holding the remedies. You approached the stairs to see the hallway light upstairs was on.
"Ollie?" You lightly called, thinking she was asleep. You were certain that the light was off when you left, so you assumed she forgot to turn it off before returning to your room. At the top of the stairs you looked around, the zombie nowhere to be seen. With a raised brow, you flicked the hallway light off and stepped slowly through the corridor.
Approaching the bedroom door, you heard snickering, and light taps on the keyboard. Then suddenly, her signature villainous laugh, coughing horrendously afterwards. With a sigh, you opened the door to see Ollie playing a game on your PC.
"Ollie..." You called.
"Ollie?" You tried a little bit louder.
"HAHA! DIE!" She yelled, her voice raspy, sniffling after each breath.
You approached behind her, prodding her shoulder, seemed to scare the life out of her. Which her scream almost rupturing your eardrums.
"Y/N! I swear, I wasn't playing games." She held her hands up defensively, sniffling again.
"The monitor is on and everything, I SAW you play." You rebutted.
"Me? No." She said while quickly shutting down your computer. "No games here, Y/N."
"Alright, that's enough, back to bed. This is what happens when I leave you for one hour, Ollie. One hour."
"Well, I got bored! Plus I've been really trying to play that new game recently, and you happened to own it, so..."
"So... Back to bed." You demanded.
"Fine, okay. Promise you'll let me play, when I get better." She haggled, taking along the blanket that was from your bed.
"Right well, that's not gonna happen until you do, you said it yourself." She plopped down onto the bed, coughing. You sat down beside her.
"Here." From the bag, you held out the cough drops, subsequently the nasal spray. But when you pulled out the final item, the Tylenol, she weeped.
"No, Y/N! Anything but that!"
"What? It's only Tylenol."
"Yeah, but it's the nasty medicine flavor."
"But it's Tylenol, what else is going to make you feel better?"
"Games."
"Look - asides from that... C'mon, Ollie."
"You know I hate nasty things, Y/N."
"Coffee is NOT a nasty thing. I mean - Tylenol." You placed the reddish bottle onto the nightstand.
A quirk of Ollie is her aversions to things she considers filthy. Coffee being one of them. And as much as she loves eating food, fruits and spicy stuff aren't forte. You remembered how she threw chunks after eating a mass of cabbage.
"Y/N?" She sniffled.
"What?"
"Can I have candy?"
"If you take the Tylenol."
"So you're saying that if I drink - that - I'll get candy to consume." She gestured to the bottle.
"Essentially, yeah."
"What if I don't take it...?" She squinted, hoping that you would let her have her way. Knowing her tricks, you decided to mess with her.
"Fine, I'll get some downstairs." You stood up. Ollie's face lit up.
"Really?"
"If you take the Tylenol." You grinned.
"Damn it!" She cursed in Japanese.
"Fine, I'll take it, but you better not be playing me."
You poured out a dose with the provided cup, and remained by the door.
"I'll go get your candy, but by the time I come back - that better be gone. Otherwise, that Starburst is mine." She grimaced and stuck her tongue out at you.
And so, proudly you walked down the stairs, knowing that Ollie was left no choice, you sighed in relief. You went in the kitchen and looked in the pantry. A small share-sized bag of mini-Starbursts stood out present as the first item on the top shelf. It seems like Ollie had already made attempts to reach for it.
You made it back up with the candy in hand, and opened the door to see the cup empty.
"You didn't dump it anywhere did you?"
"No, but you better give me the damn candy though, before I start hurling limbs." And so, you gave up your reward and you picked up the dosage cup to rinse off in the bathroom.
"You really did take it."
"Crazy, right?" She laughed.
