greetings!

this is part two of three...

fluffffyyyyy

enjoy.

...

"Eh...?" You stood ready to bear a fight but to only confront a trio of women. One being Marine, another being quite short with her outfit resembling a butterfly, and lastly one of great affection to carrots denoted by the carrots stuck in between the braids of her twin tails, along with accessories to follow.

"Oh - Do you know them, Marine?" said the short one, letting go of one of her arms.

"I swear I've seen this person before, Peko." The carrot girl scowled and squinted at you, still maintaining her grip on Marine's left arm.

"Y-Y/N?" Marine seemed to be astonished as to recognize you, perhaps due to the change of your looks and style completely.

"So you aren't in trouble?" You sighed in relief.

"Well, she definitely still is! She won't show us a picture she's been talking about." The short one dove her hand into one of Marine's pockets and brandished a photo.

"See! Wait - hold on. Pekora, that looks like them, right?" The short one quickly dashed over to the carrot girl, whose name by the sound of it was Pekora.

Marine suddenly snapped into focus and realized that such photo was missing. She quickly tried to pry the photo out of Pekora's hands but it remained like glue.

Carrot girl took a look at you, then back at the picture. While her eyes were there, the short one looked at you. Whilst Marine continued to swat her hands, she finally yanked the photo back into her possession.

The carrot girl and the short one approached you, while Marine held the photo contently.

"Usada Pekora." The carrot girl held out her hand, which you shook.

"Uruha Rushia." said the short one, placing her hands on her hips in a pretentious manner.

"Say, peko... Was that you in that photo?" Pekora pried.

"Uh. Well, I can't say without seeing it myself." You scratched your nose lightly.

"Marine! Come over here, show them." Rushia hailed over Marine.

Marine hesitated but eventually walked over.

"It was just a photo of me and you back then..." As she handed over the photo with one hand, she looked away and covered her face with the other in embarrassment.

The photo was indeed the both of you when you were younger, though it showed Marine kissing your cheek without you noticing.

"That's so cute!" Rushia teased, nudging her elbow into Marine's hip.

"You're lucky, especially being with Maririn, peko." Pekora giggled.

Marine retracted the photo. You were basically stunned as you could only try to think of what happened back then.

"Why - why did you - just go?" You stammered. "I'm
not going to put it against you or anything... I just want to know."

"Eh...?" Marine seemed kind of guilty. "Oh..."

"Did you two break up, peko?" Pekora butted in, but got instantly shut down by a hit in the arm by Rushia.

"Sorry about that, I'll deal with her." Rushia swatted her hand as a goodbye, dragging Pekora across the concrete.

"WAIT! PLEASE, PEKO!" That was the last of Pekora's screams as Rushia seemed to have laid it down on her.

"Y/N, just know... it wasn't personal." Marine sighed. "You were a great person, I enjoyed every moment with you."

"I get it. You had something going on in your life." You shrugged with a light smile. "I mean, everyone has reasons, right?"

"Eh...? I guess... but-"

"You became an idol for your grandmother, right?"

"How'd - how do you know I'm an idol?" She stuttered. "How'd you know I was doing it for her?"

"Your the top search result for 'hololive', right?" You turned around and looked into the dimmed sky. "Plus, you were always big talk on about your grandmother, how she was feeling, those kinds of things..."

"And how she got sick..." Marine sighed.

"Don't worry about me then." You turned around and smiled. "People come and go, all the time... Not everyone gets to stay."

"You're not mad at me for just leaving you?"

"No."

"I left you out of the blue!"

"That's fine."

"I chose my feelings over you!"

"Marine, slow down. It's your grandmother that we're talking about!" You put your hands on her shoulders. "If anything, I'm glad that you decided to help her than ramble on to a low-life like me."

"Y/N... so it's really fine that I did this to you..." She whimpered.

"Yes, Marine. I mean, we got to meet again, right here." You shrugged. "I'm honestly happy to be here right now, reunited with you, at the very least knowing you're well."

Suddenly, she slipped through your arms and embraced you. She sniffled and rubbed her head into yours, squeezing tighter onto your back and chest.

"I missed you so much." Marine cried.

"It's alright, I'm here." You wrapped your arms around her and held her tightly.

"I - I lo-" Marine was interrupted by the sudden approach of Pekora.

"Hurry, Rushia! Take some nice photos of them!" Pekora whipped out her phone and began snapping photos.

Rushia trudged along in tears.

"That was so beautiful...! Marine, I'm glad you have someone like Y/N by your side!"

"What about-" You tried to ask her about what she said, but Marine decided to lay out punishment for spoiling the moment.

...

Just a few moments after, you and the trio decided to exchange numbers and said your farewells. You had promised Marine that you would see her again in high spirits.

Except you've never expected to see her so soon.

"No way..." You stared at your laptop screen for a solid 10 seconds before snapping back into reality.

An email from Motoaki Tanigo, or Yagoo according to the hololive fandom, entailed that you had just landed an interview with the man himself.

"Personal interview?" You squinted to read the text.

"I will meet you, along with another idol to get you settled in..." You read softly. "Your personality seems interesting... one of a kind?"

"What the hell does that mean?" You cocked your head back in disbelief. "That would make anyone a candidate as good as me!"

You shook your head and wrote a reply saying that you would make it in the next day. You shut the lid of your laptop and plugged in the charging cable. Kicking off your slides, you tucked yourself in and tried to sleep.

But the thoughts of Marine and the new job were just way too much for you to handle, yet also enough to distract your brain from other things too, effectively driving you to sleep.
