I guess the term "calm down" was never something I paid much attention to. We'd been driving for almost twelve miles before I managed to regain my composure.

Alex kept a severe hold on me most of the drive. Part of it was him trying to be comforting; the other part was him trying to keep me from opening the van door and flinging myself out.

Michael and Eric were sat in the front, Eric navigating with the directions he had on his phone.

"Where are we going?" I elected to ask once I stopped biting Alex's arm in a poor attempt to get him to let go. Damn his biting kink.

"To be honest, I don't know. I'm just following the directions." Michael looked at me in the rearview mirror.

"Directions given by who?"

"You'll see."

It'd taken a few hours once we managed to cross the border back into Washington. I was starting to get a bit nervous. The last time I was shoved into a van and kept in the dark about the future, it didn't go so well.

Not that I'd ever mistrust my team. I just think I'll have to rebuild some trust after this is all over.

Michael stopped the car outside a gate. There was a sort of bridge in front of us- another underground base it looked like. I followed the three men out and towards the supposed entrance.

The place sure did look like a secret base. It was dimly lit and made of concrete. I couldn't stop my heart rate from picking up as memories started to overcome my proper judgment.

This isn't Hydra.

This isn't Hydra.

A man met up with us. Michael said a few things to him which I wasn't listening to. I was too busy documenting everything around me.

You know, just in case.

"I think she should get looked over," Michael told the man.

"I think she might want to see them first."

I whirled my head in their direction, "see who?" I raised an eyebrow.

"I think he means us." A different voice chimed in.

My head then whipped in the opposite direction. Every feeling of mistrust and reluctance left my body. Something about that blonde hair and blue eyes put me at complete ease every time I saw him.
