A walk to the diner

The rain continued to pour on the pair but they didn't seem to have a care in the world. The only thing that mattered to them was the fact that they had found someone who could possibly learn to get their personalities and their baggage. They both just stood there, their hands still together and just taking each other in. The sudden boom of thunder had caused the two to let go of their hands and both jump at the sound. Bucky looked at Vieve and she looked back. Bucky was entranced with how she looked. Her short hair soaked and sticking to her face while the raindrops highlighted the high points of her face, to say she was beautiful would be an understatement to him. Vieve was doing the exact same thing just examining the man who stood in front of her with his dark hair plastered onto his face and the stubble that was slowly growing back. Their thoughts of each other were interrupted by the sound of Vieve's stomach screaming for some food. Bucky noticed and a smile had appeared on his face while an embarrassed look fell upon hers.

"Sorry," she said shyly "I guess it's been a while since I've eaten something," She said slowly, turning back to face the tower of stone.

"Don't be sorry, it happens to everyone. Would you maybe want to go and get some food?" He asked as a crimson tint appeared on his cheeks. Vieve took notice of the color appearing on his cheeks and thought that it was charming that he was so easily bashful. Her face lit up with a smile and she nodded her head. She put her hand back onto the stone and brought her forehead to the stone and mumbles something that Bucky couldn't quite hear but he figured it was some kind of goodbye. What she whispered to her brother was a thank you because for once in her life she was going to be able to have someone to talk to with no judgments attached.

"Alright James," she said, facing him "where are we heading to?" she asked with one of the biggest smiles upon her face.

"I'm not quite sure. What if we just walk the streets until something catches our eyes?" he asked, tilting his head and giving a smirk. Vieve loved the idea because it would give her more time to get to know this stranger more in a natural setting.

"I'm in," she said, starting to walk towards the exit of the courtyard that they were in. She did however stop when she realized that he wasn't following her. She turned on her heel, walked up to him, linked her arm with his, and started dragging him towards the exit. Bucky was shocked by her action but he went along with it and let her hold on to his arm as they went walking deeper and deeper into the city.

As they were walking along the streets the rain had let up a little and she was pointing to all the little diners that they were coming across. Little did he know that they were coming up upon the place where Vieve worked. He noticed that she didn't point that one out and he wondered why.

"Hey Vieve," he stopped, "why don't we go to that one there?" he asked, pointing to Charlene's. Vieve had a look of admiration on her face. She didn't know that he was actually paying attention to what she was actually saying, but the fact that he was listening made her feel noticed and appreciated. She smiled through a nod and they both started to cross the street.

They entered the establishment and immediately Derek noticed that it was Vieve who walked in, but she gave him a look as to not call her by name. Sure she would eventually tell the guy that she worked there but not on the first time going somewhere with him. Derek noticed the look that Vieve gave him and he took the clue.

"Hello guys, welcome to Charlene's. Would you guys like a booth or a table?" Bucky didn't know what to choose so he turned to Vieve and let her decide.

"A booth would be great" She smiled at Derek, then turned to Bucky to see if he agreed with her decision. He did. He looked at her like she was the only thing in the room and Derek could tell what Bucky was feeling. Derek led them to their booth, gave them their menus, and headed off to go get them some water.

"This is a cute little place," Bucky said while looking around at all of the decors. It was an older themed diner and he felt like it was a little slice of home for him. It was covered in black and white pictures from what he would assume were the owners of the place. He felt nostalgic almost and wanted to walk around and look at everything.

"Yeah, it is super cute. I have always loved the old-timer decor" she said looking at him look all over. She was actually the one who helped decorate the entire building and she felt pride knowing that he thought it was cute. "We can go look around if you want," she said nodding her head signaling to him that it would be okay for him to go and look at all of the pictures together.

"Really?" he asked, his face perking up with excitement. Vieve giggled at his excitement, stood up, took his hand, and led him over to the pictures on the wall. Bucky was looking deeply into the pictures and analyzing every single one. Vieve however, had already seen every picture, but she was still looking. No, she wasn't looking at the pictures, she was looking at James. The way that his face lit up looking at the black and white stills showed her that he really was into either photography or older times. Little did she know that Bucky could tell that she was staring at him but he let it slide because he knows that he was doing the exact same thing earlier when they were walking in the city and she was talking about all the things that she loved. He however stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the picture of the Stark Expo that he had taken himself and Steve to. He felt the memories come back and it was not a good thing to have that happen right then. His head felt like it was going to burst open but he kept on a brave face and didn't show any pain, but of course, Vieve saw the change in body language.

"Hey, let's go sit down," she said, taking his hand in hers and leading him back to the booth. She sat him down and poured him a glass of water. She sat by his side and let him fully recover from the unknown episode that he just had. She moved back over to the other side of the booth when the bell to the door rang. Out of habit, she looked at the door and who she saw made her genuine happy mood instantly disappear
