Bucky hung up the phone and looked at Vieve. He could see the sadness in her face that the date would have to end and he turned his head down. He of course felt bad because they were having such a wonderful day and they had to cut it short. He was starting to get into his head and before he could he felt a cold hand on his face comforting him. He looked up from the ground and was met with her hazel eyes that held nothing but content and happiness.
"Hey don't feel bad, okay. It sounded urgent and you know that Steve wouldn't have interrupted our day if it wasn't something potentially dangerous. We still have the ride home and maybe we can watch a movie or even play games when we get there. Does that sound okay to you?" she asked while swiping her thumb back and forth to bring him comfort. He just looked down at her and smiled and reached in for a kiss, which she reciprocated. The fact that she didn't let this ruin her day made sure that it wouldn't ruin his. He knew that she was the type of person to have the most positive outlook in any scenario and he prayed that it would never change. He knew in his heart that he loved her but he didn't want to say it to her just yet, they just went on their first date. "I'll take that as a yes then" she giggled.
He took her hand in his and they walked back to the car with the apples that they had picked together. They tried to walk as slowly as possible to spend as much time together as they could. When they got to the car, James of course, opened her door for her and ran around to the other side and started the car. Where the nerves of the date were now gone, Vieve connected her phone to the car's Bluetooth, which blew James' mind, and played one of her playlists. James pulled out of the parking lot and made his way towards the main road while Vieve just sang her little heart out to whatever song was playing. He didn't know what the song was but he just knew that it made her happy and that alone put a smile on his face. He looked over at her and she was using her phone as a little microphone and singing into it. She noticed and started singing to him and pointing at him trying to make him sing the song that he didn't know. But she would not give up. She leaned towards him and put her hand on his shoulder and put even more emotion into the song and that got him to smile and shake his head. Again she was not giving up until he participated even in the slightest. She got her phone mic and put it over in his direction signaling him to sing and by this point he had caught on to the tune and the lyrics of the song so he embarrassingly sang "if you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends" which threw Vieve off. She was not expecting him to actually sing and when he did she died of laughter. Which in turn causes him to also die of laughter.
Once the pair had stopped laughing the song changed to one of the songs that James had added to her playlist, that she didn't know of. Normally if she didn't know the song she would skip it but she heard the slightest sound of humming coming from James so she left it on. But what she didn't notice is that he was singing the song to her. She looked down at her phone and noticed that the song that was playing was called Every day I love you (Just a little bit more) and when she saw that she just knew that this was going to be their song. She listened and looked over at him and she too then realized that she was so in love with him but didn't want to tell him because she thought it was way too soon to have feelings that were this strong.
The rest of the drive was just the same as the first, filled with Vieve just singing and Bucky joining in only when he knew the song or it was one of the songs that he secretly added to her playlist. She of course didn't mind because she knew that he hasn't been that comfortable to transition to this century. He of course did want to be able to join this generation and it seemed like even Steve was able to, so he wanted to try, not just for himself but for her. Because he knew that she would help him every step of the way if he needed her to be. The tall city buildings started to make their way back into the vision field of the pair and Vieve's heart kind of sank, because the time she had with James she didn't want to end. She loved being with him and, of course she also loved seeing the team, but today was supposed to be them and no one else. She didn't want him to catch on to her thoughts so she cleared them from her mind. With him being a former assassin she knew that he was able to read thoughts by looks so she tried her best not to let them seem too sad.
