James was a nervous wreck. He had planned on asking her on this date for a while now but he had never really gotten up the courage to do so but today he did. He got the courage when he knew that Steve had noticed how much they both care about each other. It was a way that he gave his blessing to James. James knew that he didn't need Steve's blessing about seeing who he wants; he just wants Steve to approve of them.
He had been secretly planning this little adventure for the both of them with Nat because he had no clue as to where he should start. When he went up to Nat to ask her what he should do the squeal she let out was deafening. She said that she had the most perfect idea and that Vieve would love it. They sat there for hours calling places and making some reservations and planning everything. When they were done James had the biggest smile on his face and was so excited for this day.
Once he got off of the phone with Vieve he was a nervous wreck. He went straight for the shower to freshen up. After his shower he got in his outfit which consisted of many layers. He had a dark gray t-shirt layered under a burgundy red Henley shirt and he threw on his leather jacket over that. He also had on his dark denim jeans and a baseball cap to finish off the look. After he was dressed and almost ready to leave he went up to see Steve, since he had about 30 ish minutes before he had to leave to go and pick her up. When he got up to the common floor with everyone there he got so many stares from everyone, the only person who wasn't staring was Nat. She already knew what was happening and she was so excited for him.
"Hey Steve, can I talk to you for a second?" he asked, all nervous like that and that spiked worry in Steve. Bucky was rarely nervous around him and so the fact that he was, was extremely unsettling. He nodded his head and made his way towards Bucky wrapping his arm around his shoulder and heading to the kitchen area of the common floor
"What's going on Buck, you seem really nervous?" Steve said, leaning his lower back on the counter and crossing his arms in front of his chest.
"What are your honest opinions on Genevieve?" James asked while turning his face towards the floor, almost embarrassed about the question that he asked.
"I really like her Buck. She is a good soul, like the ones we would find back in our day. I can also tell she really cares about you and the rest of us. Sure there might have been some rocky parts of our relationship with her but after that was all resolved she hasn't shown any malice or hatred to us, even Tony. She is good for you Buck and I believe that if you want her to be in you life for a while then I will support you one hundred percent because Buck, I'm with you until the end of the line" he said those last words and put his hand on Bucky's shoulder and caused him to look up at him and finally relax a little.
Steve would never know how much the words that he spoke meant so much to him, but they did. The way that Steve could see the good and the bad in people instantly, James knew that he was only speaking the truth. With that he gave Steve a little bro hug and went on his way to go and talk to Tony.
He needed to talk to Tony to see if it was okay to go and borrow one of his cars because the date venue was a little ways out of the city. Tony was in his lab as usual and so that kind of calmed Bucky's nerves a little. It was an environment where the two were constantly talking. He knocked on the door and waited for a response. When he didn't get one he knocked again this time a little louder and then the door shot open very quickly.
"Jesus Barnes, you scared the shit out of me. What are you doing here all dressed up for?" Tony said to him, opening the door more and motioning James to come on in further to the lab. The relationship between the two was getting better. It still wasn't the best or even like Steve and Tony's but it was definitely improving.
