UNEDITED.. bare w me.

Dylan:

I woke up to my alarm going off and I stretched before lifting my eye cover. I was tired, yet I didn't feel as drained as I usually would. After our intimate encounter last night, I couldn't seem to fall asleep. Part of me was paranoid that she would wake up and steal all of my stuff, but I knew I was just being delusional.

The other part of me cried. I cried because I felt her pain and her loneliness. We were from two different worlds, yet we share some of the same unspoken wounds that I wouldn't dare tell a soul.

I don't even think I'd tell her.

After crying my eyes out, I decided to wash her clothes as I promised. I had to scrub them a few times to get the dirt from them, but after soaking them and massaging them thoroughly, I was able to give them a full clean after putting them in the machine a few times.

I knew she would appreciate it. She was already so appreciative of everything else. I saw it in her eyes. She looks at me as if I'm some sort of God and it scared me because I wasn't. I was nothing but ordinary living an extra-ordinary life that, quite frankly, I wish I could give up sometimes.

But my mother taught me to never accept the bare minimum.

I stood to my feet, slipping on my house shoes and walking to the bathroom to do my morning routine. I brushed my teeth and washed my face before slipping into my glass shower. I washed my body, scrubbing my skin and rinsing off. I slipped out and wrapped my towel around myself and walked into my closet to get dressed for the day.

I decided on a calmer outfit. Bell bottom jeans that flared at the foot with a snug baby pink turtle neck and my white mink coat. I slipped on my baby pink heels with fur on the front that exposed my toes before grabbing my purse and sitting at my vanity. I didn't feel like wearing too much makeup today, simply using foundation and concealer and eyelashes with some lip gloss.

I stood and walked out of my bedroom when I heard loud thumping come from the guest room. I furrowed my brows, praying to God it wasn't what I thought it was as I slowly opened the door to see Rayne doing intense push-ups. She pushed herself from the ground and tapped her chest before landing on her hands again, doing it in a fast pace motion causing the thumping noise. She was drenched in sweat, her lips parted as she continued her workout.

She looked up at me, slowing her movements as her eyes traveled up and down my body. I looked away bashfully before watching as she stood and wiped her hand before holding it out to me.

"Good morning." I breathed as I lightly squeezed her hand. She smiled a pleasant smile and it dazzled me. I couldn't help but admire her smile. The small gap in her teeth made it so much better. She was so beautiful, and her eyes held so much pain.

"You okay?" She asked quietly, her voice taking me aback. I still wasn't used to it considering she didn't use it much. I nodded before clearing my throat.

"How did you sleep? Good?" I asked. She nodded eagerly, her now frizzy curls bouncing around her face. I smiled at the sight, feeling my stomach fill with butterflies that I couldn't quite understand.

"Okay..so will you be comfortable staying here?" I asked quietly. Her jaw dropped and she looked around with wide eyes. She pointed at herself and I nodded, before squealing as she suddenly pulled me into a bear hug, lifting my body from the floor.

"Thank you, thank you." She suddenly sobbed into my shoulder as she held me to her body. It made my own tears burn at the corner of my eyes and I tapped her shoulder, my hand rubbing up and down her back as I tried to console her.

"Put me down so we can finish talking, honey." I giggled lowly as her breathing started to slow down. She obeyed, slowly placing me to my feet. I smoothed down my coat and my shirt before smiling up at her, watching as she wiped her face from her tears.

"Now..you can live here with me but I have some rules, okay?"

She placed her hand on her head before saluting me as if I was a captain causing me to laugh and slap her shoulder. Her hard, muscular shoulder that I couldn't help but let my fingers linger on for a little bit, before letting my hand drop to my side.

"Rule number one, no guest without my permission. I don't even let people come over. So please just always ask me. I'll be helping you with a phone and stuff tomorrow. Rule number two: don't be idle. If there's a mess, clean it. I'm not here most of the time so please respect my cleanliness. I do have a house keeper that comes every weekend but I don't like taking advantage of that. It comes with the penthouse package. Three, if you don't know how to cook, PLEASE do not try. I will leave you money for food. And lastly, please just stay out of my room. Oh! And you have to come to the clinic with me at least every other day. I want you proactive. I'm willing to help-"

"Okay." She stated loud and clear. It caused me to jump slightly. It was the loudest I've ever heard her speak and it scared the shit out of me. She noticed, her ears turning red as she looked away but I shook my head, tip toeing and touching her chin causing her to look down at me.

"Don't shy away. You have a nice voice. It's deep and loud. Just relax, and get dressed. I washed your jeans for you last night and your sweater." I breathed. She nodded, taking my hand from her chin and slowly kissing the top.

I gasped at her gesture and she smirked, letting go of my hand before snapping her fingers. She waved me over and I furrowed my brows as we walked downstairs. She pointed behind the fridge and I gasped.

"You fixed that? Like by yourself?" I asked. Behind my fridge was an outlet that hung from the wall due to it being broken. I was always so paranoid of it sparking so I wrapped it with duct tape.

It was now perfectly embedded into the wall, the outlet covered with its white frame. I looked up at her and saw her grinning goofily at herself as she stared at her work with accomplishment.

"When did you..?" I asked.

"Y-you was sleepin'. Been up since five." She responded back, before waving me over to the back door that led to my balcony. She pointed up at the security camera and I gasped.

"It's been broken since I moved in. I meant to get it fixed but I forgot. You did that?"

"Yes."

I looked at her to see her staring intensely at her work, before licking her finger and dusting off the lens. She walked back inside and I followed her, watching as she grabbed the television remote and turned it on, the view of the balcony being illuminated on the screen.

"Wow..this whole time?! I didn't even know!" I exclaimed causing her to jump. She looked at me with a grin before grabbing her jeans that I laid out on the couch last night and slipped them on, her hands running across the fabric as if she forgot what they felt like. She then grabbed her black hoodie and slipped it on, moaning slightly at the warmth from it coming from the dryer.

"Thank you." She breathed, her eyes still closed as she continued to feel the fabric of her clothes. I watched the way her lashes laid on her cheeks, a tear slipping from my eye. I wiped it quickly before clearing my throat.

"Okay..let's get going. I think I have a job for you at the clinic now that I know what you're capable of."
