Vyper took a deep breath as he attached a pair of wires to the small glob of plastique he had been working into the right shape. The charge was designed to blow the cover off of the jammer, before the bigger charges blew all the insides into tiny pieces of shrapnel. He ducked instinctively as he heard the whizz of a bullet past his ear.

"Hey, watch it assholes!" He shouted. Whoever had shot at him probably couldn't hear his complaining, however, since they had been cut down by one of his companions and was now lying on the floor.

"Clear!" Sentinel called, standing out of the cover he had been in. The kid had somehow managed to avoid any kind of serious injury, the only one to do so.

"Then lets get these bodies out of the way and get ready for the next set." Chesyr said, revealing herself over by the doorway. She had one hand to her chest and was deep and slow. She winced with every breath, the pain of her broken ribs making her breath hitch. She and Sentinel started towards the closest body to the door.

"Vyper, how's the work going?" Oracle asked from where she was sitting, leaned back against a pool table. She still looked like hell, beaten and bruised, but her eyes were burning behind their pixelated appearance. Her aim still seemed sharp as well, despite shooting with her off hand.

"It's just about done." He said, holding up the cover he was about to put back into place. "You guys should probably get out of here."

Oracle nodded, and Vyper turned back to his work. He didn't bother with the screws, instead just fitting the cover in place and pocketing the screws. He double checked his wiring work, making sure that trying to turn the jammer on would immediately set off the charges. By the time he was done retracing all the wires, Sentinel had moved the pool tables blocking both doors, and Chesyr was half carrying Oracle down the hallway.

"Ready to go?" Sentinel asked, walking over and offering Vyper a hand.

"Yeah, let's go find a safer spot to see what happens." Vyper took the offered hand and stood up, biting back a moan of pain as his injured leg took his weight. Sentinel immediately threw Vyper's arm over his shoulder, and they started walking down the hall after the girls.

Even with Vyper's leg slowing them down, it didn't take long for them to catch up with Oracle and Chesyr. They were about halfway down the hall, between two sets of doors. Oracle was sat on the floor, leaning back against the wall with her head hanging down. Chesyr was doubled over against the opposite wall, one arm above her on the wall and the other holding her ribs.

"You guys okay?" Vyper asked, shrugging out of Sentinel's grip and limping over to Chesyr. She was sweating, but her color looked good and there wasn't any signs of bleeding from her mouth.

At least her lung isn't collapsed or punctured, Vyper thought, the little voice in the back of his head adding, yet.

"I'm alright," Chesyr gasped, "Just hurts."

"Me too." Oracle's voice was still strong. "Kind of dumb of us to leave the medical kit in the truck, huh?"

"Maybe, but I was at least a little prepared." Vyper dug a bottle of high dose pain pills out of his pocket. He ignored Oracle's raised eyebrow as he rattled a couple out of the bottle and handed them to her. "Can't be too careful."

"What else do you have in there?" Sentinel asked.

"A roll of bandages, needle and thread, and my pack of blasting caps." Vyper listed off, patting his pocket. "Bare bones, but basic beats nothing."

"Damn, I'll need to start carrying some of that too." Sentinel stuck his hands in his pockets, then pulled out his phone. "This is all I've got in mine."
