Ranger sighed as Chesyr hit another hole. They had been driving through somebody's back forty for almost ten minutes, Fang walking almost a hundred meters ahead of them to keep an eye out for anything suspicious while they followed. They had left Ranger's truck behind at the gate, carefully hidden so they had a backup. All things considered, the truck was handling the offroad well, but Ranger could swear that Chesyr was hitting ditches on purpose.
"Can you ease up on the demolition derby just a bit, Chesh?" He asked, carefully pushing the two wires into what he was holding. "This is delicate work."
The back of a bouncing truck is not exactly where he wanted to wire up C4.
"Sorry." Chesyr said, the lack of jokes telling him that she meant it. "I'm not used to driving things this tall. I can't tell how close the holes are."
"I'm just happy we still had some of this in your stash." Vyper said from next to him, where he was doing the exact same thing. "It'll make this a little easier for us."
"Got it!" Oracle shouted from where she had made herself comfortable in the front seat. She quickly hit the comm in her ear. "Fang, stop. I'm in!"
The captain, barely more than a shape in the darkness with two glowing eyes, turned and ran back to the truck as Chesyr put it into park. Ranger handed off his last bit of C4 to Vyper as Fang reached their window. "I can see light through the trees of to the right, so we must be damn close. Any luck finding a camera system on their network?"
"Yep, breaking into it now. The cameras are the only thing on their whole network with a lock on it. Everything else is completely open."
"Can you get us a location on Sentinel and Stellan then?" Ranger broke in as he opened his door. "Or an approximate number of hostiles?"
"Well, I don't have a camera in their room, but there is one here named 'Holding Cell Hallway', so that's probably a good bet." Oracle shook her head. "I can't believe that they're this dumb. As for people inside, it's probably around fifty."
"Fifty people? This is going to be a real pain in the ass." Chesyr complained, shaking out her hands.
"That's just going off the number of cell phones connected to the network, so it could be more." Oracle responded.
"Nothing we can't handle." Fang rolled his shoulders, both of them making a crunching noise. He started popping his knuckles as he continued. "Everyone remember what they're doing?"
"Do you remember what you're doing?" Chesyr challenged him as she opened her door, almost hitting Fang before he stepped out of the way.
"Of course," Fang rolled his eyes with a grin. "I'm playing distraction. Walk up to the front door and give them some girl scout cookies."
"While you're doing that, I'll sneak in and find our boys." Chesyr said.
"I'll be following Chesyr, making sure our way out is clear, and dropping some good times as we leave." Vyper hefted the bag of explosives onto his shoulder as he crawled out of the truck.
"I'll be taking out priority targets, runners, and generally watching your ass," Ranger said. He reached under the back seat of the truck and pulled out Modo, his Mk 22 Mod 0 ASR. He pulled the scope out next and quickly started affixing it to the sniper rifle.
