Sentinel

The Britnell Residence

Redbear, Washington State, USA

November 1st, 2019

"Alright, boys, let's see those costumes!" Oracle called, and Sentinel cheered along with everyone else.

The first thing everyone had done when they got to the Brits' house was change into costumes that were a bit more comfortable. Sentinel wound up going first, and had opted to be a classic vampire, putting on fake fangs over his canines and Victorian clothing. Ranger and Fang had demanded to go last, and it had taken them almost ten minutes to change.

"I hate you all," Fang said as he opened the bathroom door.

Fang was dressed like a slutty emo girl, with a mesh top, schoolgirl skirt, fishnets, and knee high boots. His face had been painted white, and his hair was painted purple and black. He was still smiling in spite of his tone, and Sentinel was pretty sure he blushed under all the makeup as everyone started cheering and whistling.

"I see they tried to match both our aesthetics." Ranger walked out of the hallway and stood next to Fang, wearing a slutty soldier costume. He was wearing a camo crop top and skirt, fishnets, a Boonie cap, and combat boots. "I never thought that I'd be the barracks bunny."

Fang draped an arm over Ranger's shoulders as everyone cheered again. Chesyr wolf whistled at them, and Ranger gave her the finger.

"Alright, somebody give me a God damn drink." Fang said. Sid tossed him a bottle of whiskey that Fang immediately uncapped and took a drink of. "Much better."

A timer from the oven suddenly beeped, and Sid darted into the kitchen before announcing that the pizza was ready. Everyone started grabbing food and drinks, mostly alcohol, and then they were all taking whatever seats they could find. Sentinel found himself on the couch between Michelle and Davina, who were both dressed as the girls from The Purge.

"So Sentinel, what's your story?" Michelle asked. Davina leaned into her corner of the couch and pulled out her phone.

Sentinel shrugged. "Well, you see, it all started when I was born."

Michelle laughed and rolled her eyes. "You know what I mean. How'd you wind up working with Fang and Oracle and the rest?"

"I saw a help wanted ad, and I managed to pass their tests to get the job."

"Huh." Michelle said. Sentinel gave her a confused look and she shrugged. "I always just figured you guys got rescued off the streets or something. Like Sid and I did to Little here."

Davina suddenly looked up from her phone. "Stop telling people that, I swear to God."

Michelle laughed, and Sentinel suddenly had to lean back as Davina reached over him to try and smack her. Instead, Davina grabbed one of her hands and kissed it before letting go. Davina went back to her phone, but there was a very obvious blush spreading across her pale skin.

"What about you?" Sentinel asked, glancing around the room. Fang and Ranger were playing beer pong against Jim and Sid, and Oracle had set up something on her laptop that she was playing with everyone else. "How did you guys meet Fang and the others?"

"Technically we all met because of Sid. He was doing electrical work on that mansion of y'all's and going through a breakup, and from what I heard he and Fang started going for drinks and gaming together afterwards. Sid and I started dating a few moths after that, then we met Little not long after."

"Sounds like a stroke of luck for everyone, then." Sentinel said.

"I have a question for you, Sentinel." Davina asked suddenly, leaning up so she was right up against his back. She pointed at Fang, then at Oracle, then whispered. "Are those two sleeping together yet?"
