Oracle
Highway 412
Oklahoma, USA
December 5th, 2019
Oracle knew something was wrong as soon as the cameras cut out.
She had just been idly checking the various cameras she was still connected to. Back home, Kris was feeding her animals. She was dropping food into the turtle tank when Shoelace, her Asian vine snake, struck at the glass. She chuckled to herself, knowing that Shoelace was always bitchy when he was hungry.
"See something interesting?" Chesyr asked from behind her. The shapeshifter was currently in the shape of a very small girl so she could ride between Vyper and Ranger in the backseat without the three of them being too crammed together.
"Watch this," Oracle said. She rewound the video so the others could see, and they all had a laugh as Kris' expense. Oracle moved the feed back up to live and started flipping through the cameras again, stopping when she saw Violet watering some plants in Vyper's room.
"Glad they agreed to take care of stuff while we were gone," Vyper said. "I like to know that my plants are being watered."
"Have they ever let us down before?" Chesyr asked, elbowing him.
"That's fair." Vyper shifted in his seat so he was looking at Fang and smirked. "Are we there yet?"
"Do not." Fang said, but he was already chuckling.
"Where are we going, anyway?" Ranger asked. "No that I don't love driving around with a body in the bed."
"There's a place nearby that I used to always think was the perfect place to dump bodies." Fang paused for a second to roll down all their windows, and the cab was suddenly filled with the sound of rushing air. "Can you smell where we're going?"
Oracle could smell it. She wrinkled her nose at the stench. It reminded her of cattle yards she had driven past on the highway before. She tried to roll her window up, but Fang had locked them. Behind her, she could hear Chesyr and Vyper gagging. Fang was laughing at them all.
"Oh my God." Ranger leaned forward so Fang could actually see the incredulous look he was giving him. "Is it a god damn pig farm?"
Fang only nodded, laughing too hard to speak. He turned onto a dirt road that was lined with trees, and the farm came into view not long after. It wasn't a very big farm, only a single large barn surrounded by fenced in areas. Oracle couldn't see any pigs yet, but the trepidation in her stomach only grew as Fang turned into the trees and kept driving until they couldn't see the road.
They pulled to a stop in a small clearing right next to the fence. As they all climbed out, several huge pink masses waddled over to them. Compared to how small she thought the farm was, the pigs were giant. They came up to her shoulder, and must have outweighed her several times over.
"Why are they so big?" She asked, trying to keep her voice from trembling.
"Oracle, have you never seen how big farm pigs are?" Fang shot her a sidelong glace.
"No?"
"Well, that's are how big they are." Fang walked over to the fence, and one waddled up to him. He reached through and patted it on the head a few time, and Oracle cringed watching him. Behind her, Ranger and Vyper were grabbing the body out of the truck.
"Wait wait wait, are you telling me that you're going to feed Gear to those things?" Oracle was doing her best to hide the growing horror she was feeling.
"Come on, Oracle, surely you know that pigs will eat just about anything they can get in their mouths." Several dozen more pigs were walking towards them from the barn, and Fang looked out at them. "We'll have to do a little chopping to make sure they get him all, but that's no big deal."
