Once we got into the car to take Cleo home, I was fuming. I demanded answers from Andrei, but he wasn't much help considering he was blacked out. He was coming down to check on Kol around five in the morning and was knocked over the head, so he doesn't remember anything other than seeing a distorted image of Klaus. When he woke up, the cell door was pried open and they were both gone.

Luckily, Damon was understanding and didn't ask too many questions. I explained to him that Cleo had a panic attack, which didn't seem to surprise him, and that she'd tell him everything on her own terms. She said that was something she wanted to do on her own, and I will always fulfill her wishes to the best of my abilities.

It killed me to walk away from her, to know she'd probably wake up scared and me not be there to console her, but I had no other option. If I don't track them down right this minute they'll be in the wind for days, maybe even weeks. I can't allow that. This has gone on for far too long, and I won't stop until I have their heads on a spike.

After dropping an unconscious Cleo off and giving her beautiful face several parting kisses, Andrei and I set out to find Kol and Klaus. I called Steve and told him to meet us at my office in Furnace where we proceeded to fill him in on what had happened.

"I knew I should have stayed." Steve curses, hanging his head and pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration. I shook my head.

"You couldn't have known Klaus would be here." I assure him before averting my eyes to Andrei as he hung up the phone. "Anything?"

"Klaus' home in Virginia is empty, not even a spec of dust." he informs me, slipping his phone in his pocket. "My best guess? He's setting up shop closer to Cleo." slamming my fists on my desk, I stand from my chair and let out a low, frustrated growl.

"Check to see if there are any properties in Louisiana owned by any Mikaelson." I order through gritted teeth. "I don't think he'd be stupid enough to be in New Orleans, but try it anyway." I add. Andrei nods, stepping out of the office to make the calls.

A tense silence fell over the room as my mind shuffled through hundreds of different scenarios that could play out and the thousands of places Klaus could be. The reason as to why Klaus is so adamant about having Cleo is still unclear. We only know that she's 'the key to everything', whatever the fuck that means, and that this has been going on for over two decades.

Klaus Mikaelson knows something that I don't, something about Cleo and how she play into all of this- whatever this is- and that scares me.

"Anything Nat and her pack can do?" Steve's gruff voice pulls me from my thoughts. "She's itching to help." he looks up from his screen as he waits for my answer.

"They can search the bayou." I suggest after a few thoughtful moments. He nods, his thumbs moving across the glass rapidly. "Their noses could be a great help out there. In the meantime, you and I are going to head over to WestView." I bellowed, grabbing my keys from the desk and heading towards the doors.
