D: Her appendix is leaking and we are transferring her to Mountain View Hospital via ambulance. They will be here in 2 minutes.
A: Can I ride with her?
D: What relation are you?
A: Husband.
D: Yes.
The paramedics get there. They are loading her.
A: Alex Mountain View Hospital. Meet us there. I'm riding with her.

We get in the ambulance; they turn the lights on.
Once we get to the hospital, they took her back to surgery and put me into a room. A nurse comes in.

N: Mr. Post?
A: Yes ma'am.
N: Your wife is in surgery now. It is an emergency surgery. We have to take her appendix out before she becomes septic.
A: Whatever she needs, do it. These are our insurance cards. What do you need?
N: Her blood type just in case.
A: O+
N: What is your blood type?
A: O-
N: Would you be willing to donate blood for her?

We only have 1 bag of O+ and we are out of O-.

A: Whatever she needs, I will take care of it.

The nurse comes in and starts hooking me up to a blood bag.
Alex and Dale make it to the room.

Alex: What is wrong with you?
A: I'm donating blood. They only have 1 bag of her blood type. I'm O-.
Alex: What is her blood type?
A: O+.
Alex: I'm O+.
A: Nurse he wants to donate. Dale what is your blood type?
D: O-.
She comes back in. What is wrong?
A:They are going to donate. O+ and O-.
She hooks them up to a blood bag and takes mine off.
She comes back and unhooks Dale and Alex.
2 hours have passed. I ran the nurse down.
A: When will we know something?
N: I'm not sure it takes longer in her condition.
An hour later as serogent comes into the room.
S: Mr. Post?
A: Yes Sir.
I motion for Dale and Alex to wait outside.
S: Your wife is out of surgery. She is in recovery. She will be here for 5-7 days. She will have IV antibiotics while she is here. Her appendix had begun to leak into her abdomen. How long has she been sick?
A: A couple of hours.
S: Ok. Once she is out of recovery we will bring her into this room.
A: Thank you.
I began to cry.
S: Hey, she is going to be ok. We had to give her a lot of anastasia. She is hard to take down. She will be in recovery for at least an hour, maybe 2.
A: Thank you.

I text mom.
A: Charlotte's appendix started leaking. They removed it, but we are stuck here for 5-7 days.
M: Take care of her. Your dad and I will take care of the kids.
A: Sorry mom.
M: Honey it's ok. Take care of her. The kids are having a great time.
A: Thank you.
Two hours later they wheeled Charlotte into the room.
N: Is she always violent?
A: Never.
N: The anastacia must have an effect on her. She threw her water across the room. She tried to fight a male nurse and she told an orderly to fuck off.
A: That's not like her. Please don't tell her she did those things it would break her heart.
N: We won't. I already started her IV and antibiotics. She has had pain meds. I will be back in an hour to give her more. If she is thirsty she can have ice chips. I have her IV zofran. Do you have any questions?
A: What are the long term effects?
N: Once we get the infection out and if there are no other complications there are no known ones.
A: Thank you.
N: You're welcome.
I hold her hand and run my fingers through her hair. She starts to wake up.
A: Don't sit up.
C: Where am I?
A: You are in the hospital. You got so sick, baby. I took you to the ER. They transferred you here. Your appendix was leaking. They removed it. You have to stay 5-7 days.

She looked at me, and started crying.
A: What is wrong?
C: It hurts. She screams.
The nurse comes running.
A: She is in pain.
Alarms are going off. The nurse leaves and comes back with the doctor. They gave her something in her IV and the alarms stop.
D: This will make you sleepy, but it will stop the pain. You're ok.
C: Austin.
A: I'm here. I'm not leaving until you do princess.
I grab her hand and she is asleep.
