BELIEVE IT OR NOT, SURPRISES WERE NOT HER STRONGSUIT. She'd much rather go through an agonizingly painful truth than be shocked to the bone by any sort of surprise. That's why during her birthday surprise before, Coach Inko thought to tell her beforehand, else she would have clocked a woman or two.
So she was grateful to Jordan, who'd informed her of the Inarizaki setter's visit to her home tonight. It helped rid the shock that was about to show when she'd finally processed that he was in Miyagi.
"Why'd you come here?" Her question was straightforward as soon as the Karasuno duo had turned in for the night.
Kageyama had eaten dinner with Hinata who arrived with some takeout bentos that Seinaru had texted him to buy.
Atsumu and the ravenette however, hadn't eaten yet. Their bentos were right in front of them as they sat across from each other on the dining table.
"I needed ta' talk to ya." The blonde haired setter said, looking down at the chopsticks on the table, as he felt the pressure of her gaze on him.
"Why?" She asked, picking up her chopsticks.
There was a pause, and he could see Seinaru opening her bento from his view of the table.
"Our last.. talk wasn't really good."
Was it even a talk? He slandered her by basically saying she shouldn't ask how he's doing because she has no right to (not in her job description).
"And I wanted to see if you were okay."
"I'm okay now. I was just tired so I collapsed in Hyogo." She didn't look him in the eyes as she evaded the first statement of the boy.
He no longer knew what he was supposed to say at this point. Before he came here he had conjured up this long apology for how he'd treated her when she was in Hyogo. But the girl.. she didn't look the least bit affected. And if it weren't for the professional approach she'd taken towwrds him again, he'd assume nothing bad had happened between them.
Still, he'd attempted to say how he felt.
"I feel guilty because the last time we talked I was—"
"You're my client, you shouldn't feel guilt, Miya-sama." She said, cutting him off. "You were right, I was acting out of line then. And for that, I am sorry."
"But—"
"Miya-sama." She started, looking at him. "I am not mad, you've done nothing wrong to upset me. So please don't take this the wrong way.."
