THIS WAS PROVING TO BE QUITE A LONG DAY. As a barrage of high-end rubber met the floors of the basketball court, squeaks could be heard all over the arena.
The first game of the quarter finals had ended ten minutes ago, with Bracket A's champions being Hokkaido's representative, Yūshū Preparatory.
However, their win wasn't long-celebrated because the next game, one of which the audience was looking forward to was already underway.
The rematch of Niiyama and Ichibayashi, with two of the top dogs of the country.
Both of which were olympic winners.
The 6'4 magenta haired power forward and captain of Ichibayashi looked over at the other end of the court and instantly spotted the girl who'd helped her achieve her early dreams of playing pro.
The 6'1 raven haired girl with heterochromatic eyes felt someone's gaze on her and turned. Her eyes met Kasai's. With a stoic look remaining on her ivory face, the protagonist simply gave her a nod before she continued with her shooting drills.
"You taking the tape off, Cap?" Ichigo asked when she saw her captain take off her muscle tape from her left hand, but keeping them on her right hand and fingers.
Hanuka noticed this too, "Why only the left?"
"I have to have some kind of setback." The raven haired point guard looked at them, her face blank. Her next words drained the life out of her two teammates. "One hand is enough, don't you agree?"

The game starts off normally, with the tip-off's victory going to Niiyama when Ichigo successfully sent it to their side and Shion got the ball and immediately went for a layup.
0 – 2, Niiyama.
Seinaru gave her two teammates an approving nod before the next inbound was awarded to Ichibayashi.
Their point guard, number 2, inbounds the ball and was then screened by Hanuka. She fakes to the left, but then passes it to the right where Kasai was.
Kasai sent the ball over to their shooting guard, number 3, who then went straight for the kill.
However, it was intercepted by Ichigo and sent to Seinaru.
The magenta-haired power forward of Ichibayashi took this opportunity to run up to the point guard and screen her. But it was useless.
Seinaru makes a formless three-point shot with her left hand and it goes straight through the hoop.
