THE STREETS IN TOKYO WERE PEACEFUL AT THIS TIME OF NIGHT. There were hardly any cars or pedestrians around, and the soft mumble of crickets was but white noise in the cold Thursday evening.
As her feet softly padded against the gravel streets, the protagonist couldn't help but sigh in content. This was the first time she'd had some time for herself in a while.
Clad in a green oversized sweater, black sweatpants, some sneakers, and a knitted black beanie, Ymari Seinaru decided to go for a walk at 10 in the evening, when Yachi had fallen asleep. Hinata contacted her earlier that he won't be coning home tonight for some reason, but she just brushed it off, thinking that her adopted son would be out late training and having a sleepover somewhere.
The protagonist had looked up coffee shops that were open 24/7 nearby. Roponggi wasn't that far from the business district, so she'd taken it upon herself to just walk instead of taking her car with her. Upon looking on the internet, she'd found a café that was open, and she was on her way there right now.
Her phone buzzed, startling her momentarily before she took it from her pant pocket. She opened it and there was a message from Kuroo, who was still trying to convince her to withdraw her answer to the earlier proposal for PR— even said there could be other ways, and often it would be best to just ignore the issue altogether.
On normal occasions, she would trust the director entirely. However, with her Paris Olympics coming up in December, she didn't want to risk anything that could chip at the Akatsuki's rep because of her.
She's kept a clean reputation since entering college, her relationship record since then was zero, and Utsui even once made a joke that perhaps she was back to zero because everyone she had dated under the age of 18 should be considered a childhood friend and not an ex boyfriend. Utsui found it funny— she did not.
She sighed as she entered the coffee shop, the bell dinging to notify the barista and the staff of her arrival.
Maō Coffee, the sign read.
Her brows furrowed when finally took note of the location on her Starmaps and as she looks across the street, it turns out, she was in the café right in front of Fukurōdani.
She was immediately reminded of a particular set of people she hadn't been in touch with for years. The Fukurōdani duo, Kotarō Bokuto and his setter Keiji Akaashi were inseparable even in university. And since they were both in the next building over in NSSU, back then, Ymari would sometimes see them loitering the place with Konoha and Komi, both alumni of Fukurōdani.
