I woke up in the king's arms. He was back! The first I did was to breathe him in. Creepy I know. I smiled gazing at him. He was sleeping. He looked so peaceful and vulnerable when he slept. You wouldn't say he killed people for a living as the detectives had informed me yesterday. I still needed to confirm what they had said with him when he woke up. But I wasn't holding my breath that I was going to be getting any answers from him. You guys know how he was. Such a strange specimen this king of mine. I lightly brushed the top of his nose with my finger. He snorted a breath in his sleep. My smiled widened. So cute. My finger moved to brush his eyebrows. I liked them. They were full and thick. I was in the middle of admiring them when he suddenly opened those eyes of his.
Me: "Morning." I said shyly retracting my finger. He didn't say anything. He just watched me with those eyes of his. Instead of his eyes having their usual blank reflected on them, they were full of sleep this time. They looked all groggily. And I must say a groggily eyed King was super sexy... "when did you get back?" I asked him softly. Nothing... "I missed you."
Kumkani: "Missed you too beautiful." His voice guys! Damn!
Me: "This is the second time you've broken into my home. My parents would have a fit if they found out." I told him... "especially my mother."
Kumkani: "I won't tell if you won't little beauty." I giggled softly. I don't know which pet name I liked more. Beautiful or Little Beauty. Both of them were close to my heart.
Me: "It'll be our little secret then." He continued to watch me... "I have some questions I need to ask you." I said after a short while. Nothing... "um...t-those detectives told me things about you..." I trailed off... "they said that you are a...um...contract killer?" I voiced it as a question... "is that true?" No response... "King?" His eyes were now guarded... "d-do you really kill people for a living?"
Kumkani: "What do you think?"
Me: "Me? I-I don't know what I think, that's why I'm asking you." He said nothing to that... "King-."
Kumkani: "Later."
Me: "But-."
Kumkani: "Later beautiful." I sighed.
Me: "Okay later. But make sure to tell me everything. Understood?"I pointed my finger at him. Nothing. Of course!
Kumkani: "I need to go beautiful. Your parents will wake up soon."
Me: "Nooo! Already?" I complained squeezing him... "5 more minutes...please please. I really missed you." He eyes lost the guarded look that he had a second ago and he brushed my face lovingly. I leaned into his touch and closed my eyes... "so what is the plan? Because my mother still won't allow me to go stay with you." I asked after a short while. He said nothing... "you do you have a plan in place right?" Nada. I groaned... "tell me." I urged shaking him lightly. Still nothing. I hit his chest and pouted... "you're boring. I won't play with you anymore." The corner of his mouth lifted a bit... "King please say something." I pleaded with him.
Kumkani: "5 minutes is up little beauty." I huffed really annoyed with him. He brushed his lips over my brow and then he knifed out of bed. He grabbed his jacket that was on the chair and put it on while looking down at me. Even when he was done, he stood there looking down at me.
Me: "What?" I asked with attitude folding my arms. I was still very much annoyed with him. His eyes shined. He was doing that thing again. The thing where he laughed at me with his eyes... "it's not funny." His eyes shined even more... "stop it. Stop laughing at me." I thrashed my arms and legs a little on the bed in a tantrum. Childish? I know. But blame it on lobhut' bethuna!
Kumkani: "Were you scared with those detectives yesterday?" He suddenly asked seriously. Something dangerous was brewing behind those eyes of his.
Me: "Yes." I told him honestly. He gave a stiff nod fisting his hands on his sides. I suddenly became afraid, not for me, but for those two detectives. To say the king was not happy at all that I had been scared...scared by them...was an understatement. God! Lendoda!
Kumkani: "I'll come for you beautiful. You be ready. You hear?" I nodded... "you can't speak?" Hayini. Eshe!
Me: "I hear you." He nodded satisfied and he left.It was 3pm in the afternoon. The king hadn't come for me yet. I still didn't know how we were going to convince my mother to let me stay with him. Oh well! I trusted the king. He must have a plan. I was in my bedroom busy applying nail polish on my toes when Anga entered. Gosh! I didn't want to deal with him today. Really. I was still mad at him for what he did to the king.
Anga: "Hey K. You good?" He greeted sitting down on the bed. He still had a cast on his arm. I said nothing to him and carried on with what I was doing. I hummed as I applied the nail polish on my toes. It was a red one. I liked red... "come on K. You can't seriously be still mad at me?" He said... "which I still don't get why since I did nothing wrong." I gave him a brief glare... "he assaulted me K! What was I supposed to do? Let him go? No ways." Mxm! I ignored him still doing what I was doing... "ever since this guy has made his appearance, you've changed K." He told me... "you're mean and uncool towards me. And I don't like it." He sounded like a petulant child. So unbecoming!
Me: "I beg to differ because to me, you're the one who has changed Anga." I told him... "you've been nothing but a rude jerk lately." I told him blowing at my toes.
Anga: "How can you say that to me? I'm still the same person K!" He argued... "how can you put so much trust on a man you don't know nothing about? I-I really don't understand."
Me: "Who said I know nothing about him?"
Anga: "Then tell me who he is." He demanded.
Me: "Don't want to."
Anga: "Why the hell not?" He exploded... "tell me who he is so I can run a background check on him."
Me: "I said I don't want to." He released a frustrated growl.
Anga: "K, listen to me okay...please." He said touching my face. I jerked away from his touch like he had burned me. Only the king could do that. Just now, an uncomfortable shiver went through me when Anga touched my face... "K..." He went to touch my face again and I smacked his hand away. He gritted his teeth fisting his hand tightly.
Me: "What the hell is wrong with you?!" I shouted.
Anga: "Me?!" He exclaimed... "what the hell is wrong with you?!" He shouted angrily... "you don't want me touching you now? But you've been letting that asshole touch you however and whenever he wants." He spat in a harsh tone.
Me: "First of all, when had I ever allowed you to touch me Anga?"
Anga: "Are you being fucken serious right now K? I've always touched you. You've always liked my touch." What? What was he talking about?
Me: "Anga-."
Anga: "I know you've always had a crush on me-."
Me: "Anga that's long over-."
Anga: "No! Don't say that K!" He shouted desperately... "you can like me again! I know it!"
Me: "I want you to leave." I was starting to get a bad feeling.
Anga: "No K please-."
Me: "Leave Anga." He reached out to touch me... "leave!!" I screamed backing away from him.
Anga: "K? What the fuck? I won't hurt-."
Me: "Leave leave leave!!!" I screamed so loud that even my ears rang out. I heard running of footsteps, and then my parents entered the room.
Father: "What the hell is going on here?" I was now rocking back and forth and scratching and rubbing my arms crazily. It felt like the skin on my arms was crawling with insects.
Anga: "I was just-."
Father: " What did you do?!"
Anga: "I did nothing I swear."
Father: "Then why is my daughter like that? And why was she screaming for you to leave?"
Anga: "I don't know-."
Father: "What do you mean you don't know?!"
Anga: "Tata you know I would never-."
Father: "Don't know anything!" He cut him off... "what I know is that my daughter screamed for you to leave and now she's like that. So leave my house this instant."
Anga: "Tata-."
Father: "Boy you better leave my house before I make you leave!"
Mother: "Khazie my child, tell your mother what happened?" She tried to touch me but I screamed again backing away. I was on the far corner of the bed with my back against the wall. I wanted to shrink within myself and disappear. My skin was now crawling everywhere. Those insects were everywhere. I hated these insects, they made me feel disgusting and dirty. I could feel the whispers pushing against the barrier that I had created to block them in my head. I tried to hold them back but the damage was already done. There was a crack on the barrier. The first whisper broke out and soon after that, the other whispers followed breaking free and flooding my mind. I was now screaming with my hands covering my ears with my eyes tightly closed shut. I could hear nothing else but them now. I was in suffering and pain. And it was pure torture. Somebody save me please. I pleaded over and over again inside my head. Over the noise, suddenly a voice broke through. It was a familiar voice. This voice sounded very nice and comforting. "Little beauty I'm here. Focus on my voice and breathe in my scent." As soon as the voice said that, my nostrils opened up and the most amazing scent I have ever scented filled up my nostrils. Where had I smelled this scent before? Why did it smell so familiar? "Little beauty open your eyes and look at me." I shook my head. The whispers were telling me not to trust this voice even if though something deep down wanted me to. I was in confusion. "Open your eyes little beauty!" The voice commanded! And I couldn't help but to open my eyes. Then I was staring straight at him. Something told me that I knew this man. That I could trust him. That he was special. Who was he again? I tried to recall his name over the loud whispers in my head. He was...was...was...King! The second I recalled his name, everything about this man and what he meant to me came back to me in full force and I threw myself to him.
Me: "Make them stop please...make the whispers stop please."
Kumkani: "I'm here beautiful. Focus on my voice and breathe in my scent." He kept repeating those words while brushing my back. The whispers started to go away one by one until there was nothing but silence in my head. My body sagged in the king's arms exhausted and drained out of energy and then I passed out....
