Chapter 2: Ed and Emily

***I will be putting POV's right after the Chapter 1 so we can all experience their narrative in a more personal way. This chapter will be Kara's.

KARA's POV

So today is my official day at Catco as Supergirl openly and as much I can't still believe right now, as the Chief Editor.Wow. I don't know what to expect. I have stayed away for the people's reaction last night when Ms. Grant has published my interview and now as an acting Chief Editor of Catco responsibilities will be more. I know I can do this. I agreed to this but I was hoping everything will turn out just fine.

"Ms. Grant, good morning! I'm happy that I can get to see you more often now. I'm gonna report to you again and I'm gonna be as giddy as what I am but I'm assure you that will be on good results." I am not sure what I am talking about but hell this was getting nervous just like on my very first day at Catco. "Now, now Kiera do not talk like it is your first day on the job. You faced a lot of monsters and villains don't tell me you're scared of being the Editor in Chief. My, my Kiera." Ms. Grant rolled her eyes as she yelled for her assistant Mary. "Mary put now this instance my coffee on my table when I enter my office. That should be your number one priority first thing in the morning. Am I clear?" A panicking Mary went inside carrying a fresh coffee cup inside Ms. Grant's office. "Yes of course. Here Ms. Grant and by the way our two new reporters will be having their first day as well. You mentioned yesterday to remind you of this Ms. Grant." Mary followed after placing the hot coffee on Ms. Grant's table.

"Oh yes, thank you Mary please call them in. I would like Kara to meet them immediately." Mary went out with loose chest redeeming herself from our boss and I turned to Ms. Grant.

"Wow, new reporters guess I really not gonna be on field anymore. That would be a big adjustment coz you trained me to be in the wild Ms. Grant." Kara cheerfully shared.

"I know Kiera but this is the time on when your decision making will take on. Seeing clearly what should be in my front page and what shouldn't will be your responsibility. I know I have nothing to worry about that coz I trust you to do all that. After all you are Supergirl." Ms. Grant smirked and I occasionally blushed, scratching lightly my nose remembering that I don't have in need to wear those old school glassed I have before but subconsciously still do. My mannerism of touching it just fell directly on my nose. Rao I'm gonna missed it.

"Ms. Grant, Mr. Edward Hunt and Emily Walsh were here now." Mary went back in to tell Ms. Grant. "Yes, please come in you two freshly picked tomatoes." Ms. Grant with unbashful reference to the two with matching hand gestures waving them in. The guy Edward was his name was a tall well-built man, has brown curls and matching brown eyes.

On the other hand the young woman Emily though was just as tall as me with red hair, few freckles scattered in a nice way on her nose can be seen. The undeniable sweet feature of the woman can be tricked by her eyes it was radiant like the color of deep marine, its emerald just like Lena's. I can't help but compare. I was not intending to observe Emily a little more than Edward, but the woman was distinguishly strikeful on my first impression. She smiled as she looked at Ms. Grant and back to me. "So hello there youngsters welcome to my ever indestructible Editorial Magazine Company as you all know Catco. As returning to my lovely abode I am welcoming you two. See here Ms. Kara Danvers as my Chief Editor will in need of additional pair of legs and arms to work perfectly for me again you two was a lovely add on. And please don't be shy I know you know her as much as me the Queen of All media. Introductions won't be necessary for us but you two we can have this small chat before you start getting your heads chopped off when actual work starts. Oh, no pressure honeys." Ms. Grant added as two was not that shocked anymore and was getting used to instantly with Ms. Grant's blunt words. "So Mr. Hunt is there something you wanted to say to us for this chitchat.

My attention went to Edward as he tried to straighten his blouse, take away few strands of his curly hair from his eyes and shyly introduced himself.

"Ms. Danvers, Ms. Grant. You can call me Edward, Ed or something like that. I'm just in awe to work for the both of you the Queen of Media what an honor. And of course with you Supergirl, I- I mean Ms. Danvers or can I call you Supergirl. I-I aplogized I wasn't informed yet of the set-up or is there set-up? Apologies for the rambling. So, sorry. It's just wow, it would be such an honor to work for you."

Edward timidly raised her right hand and I gladly took it to give him a handshake. The subtle british accent was evident on his tone. I smiled and said. "Ed, I feel the same way, but I would just like to correct. You will not be working for me, you will be working with me. We are a team here." Ed just nodded shyly and released my hand after the handshake.

"Oh and by the way maybe we can make a set up that when I'm not on the suit, just call me Kara." Laying them all in a heartbeat. "I'll keep it my mind. Kara." Ed responded.

I smiled back and immediately turned my attention again to Emily. "So Emily what about you, you might be excited just as I am I can feel the reporter vibe radiating from you." I tried to make the young woman at ease when I feel like she was extremely hook up on my presence, momentarily in awe of being in front of Supergirl this was not new for me but addressing this was Kara was still in the process.

"Yes, um yes definitely, I was just hoping my passion for media arts can be in good use for you and Ms. Grant. I will do my best." Kara took in the young woman's british accent just like Ed. She shook Emily's hand as well and can't help but wonder if they are related. "Are the two of you related? Or just came both from England. I laughed while asking. "Actually yes the two of us were second cousins, were both studied in England but in different unis. We were ecstatic to find out we both got in here. Truth is we just met yesterday after a long while. I was surprised I was somehow right.

"Wow what a wonderful timing. I know how great it would be to work with a family." Kara stated in the matter of fact. Working with Alex was great but working with friends which became family, it was the best though it has cons in the nature of our works.

"Oh 'Wow', I heard this word a lot already so that that was a nice chit chat. So Ed and Emily you're tables will be showed by Mary and please come to Kara around 9:30 sharp and stat to talk about your assignments." Ms. Grant dismissed the two and I just waited for a while with Ms. Grant as we talk about the articles that they will be working for the day. Of course, Supergirl and Superfriends' almighty work done to stop Niyxly and Lex's selfish plan for all the Totems. So today is the official day Supergirl and Kara Danvers were not just a team but as one. One flight at a time Kara. I keep repeating what Lena said to me the other night. With that I relax and face the new day.
