"Life is short and it is up to you to make it sweet." - Sarah Louise Delany

It was almost half past nine and I am nearly there to reach home. I was about to bid goodbye to Jeremy but Jeremy interrupted me.

"G- Good-B" I said and stopped for a second as I heard Jeremy was about to say something.

"Alannah, are you free tomorrow evening? Do you want to go watch movies with me? There is this movie I want to watch. I think it will be fun to watch with you." He said to me, blushing.

My heart stopped for a second and I was taken aback.

"M-Movies? With me?" I stuttered.

"Yeah. With you. You don't want to?" He looked at me with puppy dog eyes.

I laughed at his reaction and nodded, "Yes, I would love to go to the movies with you tomorrow evening." He jumped and got all excited after hearing my response. A part of me was curious on why he asked me out to watch a movie with him.

"We never hung out together even though we already known each other for quite a couple months already. I wonder why he asked to hang out all of a sudden..." I mumbled to myself.

Kelly smacked my arm playfully as soon as I finished telling what happened in more details. I laughed and smacked her back.

"Woo. Looks like someone have a date tomorrow." She teased.

I shook my head, rolling my eyes playfully and replied, "We are just going to hang out and watch the movies."

Kelly laughed in a teasing tone, "Sure, whatever you say, girl."

The next day, I woke up and received a text from Jeremy. I read of the text, "Hi Alannah. Don't forget to meet me at the Sea Cinema at 3 pm. See you." I smiled as I read and began to reply to his text, "Hey Jeremy. I just woke up. Hahaha. Yes, see you later."

A few hours later, I looked at the clock and it stated that it was 2.00 pm. I quickly got dressed and wore a simple makeup. I never wore makeup to work before though. I wore a floral dress and paired it up with black boots. I wore my brown sling bag and put on my sunscreen before heading out of the house.

My housemates, Kelly, Sophie and Melanie cheered for me, "Go and have fun. Our housemates finally get to experience her first date. I am proud of you."

I rolled my eyes at their silliness, "It is not a date, guys. We are just hanging out." They snickered and replied, "Sure. Let's just assume it is just a simple hang out."

I shook my head and waved goodbye to them before heading my way to the cinema.

30 minutes later, I finally arrived at the cinema. I was waiting for Jeremy to come as I received his text saying that he was on his way too. I was taking a few selfies since the weather is nice and sunny.

"I looked quite decent today." I giggled, posing for my selfie.

All of a sudden, Jeremy came towards me and pushed me to the side. He really does make me feel shocked and startled.

"Did someone take a selfie while waiting for me?" He smirked. He then added, "I never knew that you like to take selfie. I never saw you take one at the café." I pushed him back lightly and replied, "What the hell was that for?! I was so shocked!" He laughed at me, "Yes, it was so funny. You should see your face when you screamed loudly."

I rolled my eyes and not making any eye contact with him "Of course, I was shocked. You just come behind me all of a sudden. I was busy focusing taking a selfie."

He patted me in the back and said in an apologetic tone, "I am sorry, Alannah. I thought it was funny. I am sorry I was a bit late. Here, I got something for you."

I looked to my right and saw a bouquet of flowers in front of me. It was a bouquet of blue roses. I picked it up and looked at it carefully.

"Wow, blue roses? Is this for me? That looks pretty." I asked.

Jeremy nodded, replying, "Yes, it is for you. Actually, I was going to buy a bouquet of red roses for you. But then, I remembered that you like the colour blue. So, I thought that I should buy blue roses for you instead."

I smiled brightly, "Oh, you remembered all the little things about me. That is so unexpected of you." He ruffled his hair, clearing his throat and dragged me towards the cinema, "Enough talk. Let's go in and buy some popcorn." I yanked my arm off him and said, "Hey, stop dragging me. I can walk myself; you know."

I looked at my watch and it stated that it is 2.50 pm. Jeremy and I bought one large popcorn with two drinks. We walked to the room and began to watch the movie.

During the movie, I ate quite a lot of popcorn and focused on the plot of the movie. We decided to watch a romantic comedy movie. I really enjoyed myself and the popcorn tasted just right. The caramel just melted in my mouth. I tried to grab my drink and took a glance at Jeremy. I looked at him and found that he was staring at my direction. I furrowed my eyebrows and whispered, "What? Why are you looking at me like that? Do you want some of the popcorn?

He shook his head, leaned towards me and whispered something to me. It really did catch me off guard. My heart began to thump so fast.

I mumbled to myself, "What on earth is happening to my heart? Why is he acting like this all of a sudden?" I quickly everted my gaze away from him and pretending to focus on the movie. Looks like I need to rewatch this movie once again as I could not focus at all right now!
