"No rain. No Flowers."
It was Sunday morning which was two days after the hangout with Jeremy. I took a day off from work today. I rolled over the bed, reaching for my phone. My phone was vibrating a few times before due to lots of notification coming through. I rubbed my eyes, yawning widely, "Who dare to disturb my weekend now?"
I looked at my phone and saw a few notifications from my best friend, Ivy. I giggled while reading her messages. Last night, we talked on the phone until midnight. It has been a while since we talked on the phone. Both of us were quite busy with our daily life routine. So, it was really nice that we were able to catch up and know life update of each other.
"So... What do you think? Are you going to give him your answer yet?" Ivy asked.
I stared at her message for a few seconds, thinking of what to reply. My mind went back to remember what actually happen that day. I smiled as I remembered it clearly.
***Flashbacks of what happened two days ago***
The words that Jeremy whispered to me during the movie were still lingering on my mind since yesterday. "I like watching you focusing on the movie and popcorn. You looked cute. I like looking at you." I blushed as I remembered his words and actions during the movie.
After the movie finished, I felt a little bit awkward with him due to the incident before. I cleared my throat, trying to make an excuse for going home earlier than expected, "Umm. So, I need to go home. I –uhh- I have something to do." I stammered.
Jeremy grabbed my wrist in order to stop me, "Wait! Alannah, please don't go yet. Let me treat you to dinner. Aren't you hungry? I'm sorry for making things looks awkward."
I looked at him, nodded and said, "Okay, let's go eat!"
The dinner went well, we talked about the café, food and also our interest. It was good to get to know Jeremy more. I was about to head out to the restaurant and head home until Jeremy interrupted me.
"Alannah, can I have a few minutes of your time, please? I need to say something." Jeremy said.
I nodded, signaling him to continue what he wanted to say to me.
"Alannah White, I really like you. It's been a while that I have feelings for you. Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked.
I was about to say something to him, "Jeremy- I..." Jeremy stopped me and said, "It is okay, Alannah. Take your time. I will wait for your answer patiently. I will accept your answer no matter what it is. Whether it is good or bad. I hope that you don't feel pressured and awkward around me. I really like being with you."
I smiled and nodded, "Yes, thank you for your honesty and confession, Jeremy. I really do appreciate it. I will think about it more thoroughly and will tell you my answer as soon as I can."
***Flashback ended***
I began to dial Ivy's number, waited for her to pick up and answer my call.
"Hello?" Ivy said.
"Hey, I think I already made up my mind and ready to give him my answer." I said to her.
We talked for about an hour and it was already afternoon. Before ending the call, Ivy encouraged me and wished me luck. "You can do this, girl! Call me when you done telling him your answer. I really want to have a double date together. No more being a third wheel!" She exclaimed.
I giggled at her silliness and replied, "Yeah, sure silly. Thank you! I hope it goes well. Talk to you later."
I began to type a message to Jeremy. I felt a bit nervous and my heart felt like it was about to explode due to this feeling.
"Hi Jeremy. Are you free today? Can we meet up? There is something I need to tell you." I typed and sent the message to him. Then I began to wait for his reply. It was nerve wrecking! So, I decided to clear my mind by arranging some stuffs in my room and getting ready to go out.
"I really should go and buy some groceries since there are no food left in the fridge. I'm so damn hungry too! Let's go." I said to myself.
I wore a white t shirt and paired it up with black leggings. I tied my hair up in a messy bun and put on my sneakers. I looked quite a mess but who cares. It is weekend which is time for relax and not having any stressful thoughts.
I walked towards a nearby restaurant and ate my lunch first. I really cannot get anything done when I am super hungry. I ordered a chicken wrap and ice tea. About 30 minutes later, I was done eating and heading my way to the grocery store.
"Okay, what should I buy?" I mumbled to myself.
10 minutes later, I finally arrived at the grocery store. I grabbed a trolley and walked towards the snack section. It is important to have snacks stored in house. After all, snacking while doing work or watching a movie is essential.
I was about to reach for the salt and vinegar chips but my phone vibrated. I picked up my phone and read the notifications. "Oh, Jeremy replied to my message. I wonder what he replied." I paused for a second and read his replies, "Okay. Let's meet up at 5 o'clock. See you at the park." I replied to his message quickly and looked at my watch, "Okay so now it is 1.00pm so I still have time to get home and get ready to meet Jeremy later."
