"And suddenly you just know it's time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings."
I felt a ray of sunshine hitting my eyes. I opened my eyes slowly, looking at the surrounding. I widened my eyes and exclaimed, "Wait, why I am here?!" I tried to wake up and felt that my hurt was spinning a bit. "Ugh! Why is my head hurting so much?!"
I tried to recall what happened before and I gasped, "Oh my God! Ivy! I wonder what happened to her! I was supposed to go to toilet... b-but... how did I end up here?" I turned to my right as I heard the door opened. Jeremy looked at me and rushed towards me.
"Alannah! Thank God, you are awake! I was so worried about you." He said.
"What happened to me? I'm literally confuse how did I end up here?" I asked.
"You passed out when you headed towards the toilet. Luckily, a nurse found you and told me that you fainted. You actually fainted for a day." He replied, worriedly.
I gasped and asked, "Oh my God! I cannot believe that it's been a day since I fainted. So, what happened to Ivy? Is she alright?"
Jeremy looked at me for a few seconds, clearing his throat and replied, "Well. Actually... Ivy...she is..." He stopped for a second. I furrowed my eyebrows and said, "Jeremy, tell me! What happened to her?"
All of a sudden, Jeremy turned his head to the right and looked behind me. I frowned a little bit, quickly turned around. My heart stopped as I saw a familiar face in front of me. My lips quiver a little. I stuttered, "I-Is that y-you, Ivy? I- I-"
I blinked my tears. Joshua and Ivy went towards my direction. Ivy smiled and replied, "Hey bestie. I'm here." I could not control my emotions anymore and ended up sobbing loudly in front of the three of them.
Ivy started to look panic and exclaimed, "Hey! Don't cry! Stop being a crybaby." I rolled my eyes, "You know I am sensitive, right?" Ivy came closer to me and we hugged each other while crying our hearts out.
We cried for a good 15 minutes and suddenly we heard the guys' clearing their throats. Joshua cleared his throat and said, "Well, Jeremy and I are going to grab some snacks at the cafeteria. You guys can catch up with each other, okay?"
The two of us nodded and watched the guys leaving the room. I held Ivy's hand and asked, "So... How are you feeling now? Are you okay? When did you wake up?"
Ivy chuckled a little, "Slow down, please. One question at a time. I'm not going anywhere." I hold my pinky fingers and said, "Promise? Promise me that you will not hide anything from me, again?" She nodded, "Yes, I promise. No more secret between us." Then, the both of us spent time talking about various topic. Ivy started talking about what she saw before waking up. It made me shocked and I gasped loudly.
"Oh my god!" I gasped.
Ivy looked at me and asked, "Hmm? What? Why are you gasping?" I looked at her and asked, "Can you repeat what you said about your dream once again?" She looked at me worriedly and continue her sentence, "Well, I was surrounded by bright lights. All the background looked so bright and white. In fact, I was wearing white too! Everything looks so calm and pretty since I like white."
She stopped for a second before continuing her sentence, "I saw pretty flowers and rabbits too! As I was walking around, I saw you. We talked a lot together. It was fun." I nodded, listening intently to every words she said.
"And all of a sudden, you were out of my sight. I kept looking for you everywhere but I couldn't find you. After that, I saw something that catches my eye. I felt like I want to go there. "
"I walk there slowly. It was a long walk and I heard peaceful music background throughout my way there. I was smiling brightly with my heart felt at peace at that time. I was about to enter the place and opened the door. However, I heard someone's voice. I heard someone cried and called for my name. I didn't know whose voice it was but..." Ivy stopped for a second, trying to gather her thoughts and emotions. I pat her shoulder and said, "Iv, it's okay. You can stop if it is difficult for you." She shook her head, replying, "No, I'm alright. I want to continue to tell you this story. Because this is the main point of the story." I smiled, nodding at her.
She cleared her throat once again and continue telling the story, "Oh where was I? Ah! The voice. So anyway, I didn't really recognize whose voice it was as my mind was kind of fuzzy at that time. I was about to step inside the place but my heart felt heavy. I hesitated and took a few minutes to think deeply. I was like thinking whether I should go back to the reality or stay here?"
I nodded and said, "Okay and then what happened?"
She said, "Well, a part of me really wanted to go and explore a new place. Another part of me felt sorry and concerned for whoever that cried and called my name. So I had a thought and that thought that made me awake and gain consciousness."
"What was that thought you have?" I asked.
Ivy looked at me and replied, "The thought I had was related to the group of people that I cherish the most in my life. I looked back all the happy and sad memories I had with them. I thought, If I leave them, would I burden them again? Would they be sad or guilty? I did not want them to feel the pain I felt and I thought I would like to give one more chance to restart a whole new life with them."
I wiped my tears, hugging her, "You made a good choice, Ivy. Who was the group of people you cherish the most? Am I included?"
She smiled, nodding her head and replied, "Of course! How could you not have thought about that, silly?" She smacked my arm playfully before continuing her sentence, "Well, obviously my parents, my little brother, Joshua and also my pet, Snowy."
She looked at the window for a long time. Perhaps, just admiring the sky and said, "I feel like there are still a few things I want to do in life. I also want to continue doing the things that I enjoy in life. I guess... I still have a small hope and will to live..."
I nodded in agreement and said, "Yes, I agree with you. Let's start afresh and forget the hardships we encounter before. Everyone is here for you and we will help each other together."
Ivy nodded enthusiastically, replying, "Shall we begin now?"
