I glanced at Ivy for one last time before I headed out of the hospital room. I gave a smile and said, "I'll visit you again next week, Ivy."
I walked out of the hospital, looking at the surroundings area. My hands were cold and I shivered a little. I looked around to see if there is a coffee shop nearby the area. "I wonder if there is a coffee shop here. Wait, let me search on google." I said to myself.
I searched for the nearest coffee shop in the area. I scrolled down and said, "Oh! Found it! Okay so it is only a few meters away from here. Let's go and buy a hot chocolate."
I arrived at the café 10 minutes later and began to queue to buy my drink. The queue was a bit long so I looked at my phone while waiting for my turn.
Ping! A notification from my phone. I opened it. It was a message from Jeremy. I read his message and smiled, "Hey beautiful. Where are you? I already visited Ivy just now." I typed my reply, "Well, hello there handsome. I'm at Little joy Café. Waiting in line to buy a drink. Do you want me to buy you anything? Perhaps an Americano?"
There were about 2 more people in line before my turn. My eyes roamed around the café to search for a vacant seat. "Okay, let's sit there after I'm done with ordering my drinks and wait for Jeremy to come here." I mumbled to myself.
15 minutes later, I saw Jeremy entered the café. I waved at him and gestured him to come here. He smiled widely and sat in front of me. "I'm sorry I'm a bit late. Did you wait a long time for me?" he asked. I shook my head and said, "No. I didn't. Here's your favourite drink. One hot Americano for my favourite person." He giggled a little and took the drink.
The two of us spent about half an hour at the café chatting and took pictures together. I looked at my wrist watch and gasped, "Oh my gosh! It is already 2 o'clock. Let's go to my house before we head back to the city." Jeremy nodded in agreement.
We went out of the café and headed to the bus stop. Jeremy held my hand tightly and I smiled at him. I looked around the scenery of the building. All of a sudden, I felt something drop on my hair. I furrowed my eyebrows and asked Jeremy, "Hey, is there something on my hair?" Jeremy then looked at me and smiled, "Oh! Alannah, you have a snowflakes on your hair." He giggled a little and brushed my hair, "How cute."
I smiled widely and looked at the sky, "Oh, you are right! It is snowing right now! The first snow for this season." I held my hand and touched the snow that fall in front of me. I whispered to myself, "So pretty and cold too!"
I smiled weakly as I remembered the past memories I had with Ivy.
*****Flashback started*****
It was 6 years ago, mid December. Ivy and I were on our way back to home after finishing our after school classes. I looked at my watch and it stated that it was already 7 o'clock.
"Oh my gosh, it is already 7 o'clock! No wonder I am so starving!" I sighed heavily.
Ivy looked at me and giggled a little, "Well, I am hungry too! I could not even focus during class."
I linked my arm with her and said, "Well then, let's grab some burgers, shall we?" Both of us skipped happily. However, Ivy stopped skipping a few minutes later. She let go of my arm and exclaimed, "Alannah, look! It is snowing! Omg! It is the first snow."
I looked around and touched the snow with my palm, "Yes, you are right. Come, Let's take a picture together!"
Both of us took a few pictures together. I looked at each of the pictures and said, "We look quite cute in this picture! I am going to post it on Instagram!" Ivy laughed and said, "What do you mean? We always looked cute, okay!"
I giggled, hearing her remarks. Ivy then looked at me and said, "You know, wouldn't it be romantic if someone confessed to us on the first snow?" I smirked at her and said, "Well... We will find out once both of us have a boyfriend in future!"
*****Flashback ended*****
I smiled as I recalled the flashbacks. I sighed heavily and mumbled, "Ivy, I really hope that you wake up soon. It's snowing and I really wish for you to look at the snow. Perhaps make a wish upon a snow like we used to do back then."
We went straight to my house and headed back to the city a few hours later. Several weeks passed and everything seemed to be the same. Ivy's condition was the same and it gets a bit worrying sometimes. Jeremy and I accidentally met Joshua last week at the hospital. He looked quite shabby and distraught. I felt pity for him. I totally understand his reaction and current state. Who wouldn't feel sad when your loved ones is in coma?
I came towards him and asked, "Hey, how long have you been here? You looked so tired. Is today your day off?" Joshua rubbed his eyes and looked at me, "Oh, I've been here since morning. Yeah, I took a day off today. I just could not focus at work."
I nodded in agreement. Jeremy then said, "It's good that you take a day off. You need rest and please take care of yourself, bro." I glanced at Ivy and made my way towards a seat near her bed. I sat down and greeted her, "Hey bestie. How are you today? I brought flowers for you. Pretty flowers. Just like you. "
