"You are my never ending thought."
There were a few packs of salt and vinegar chips, chocolate and chip cookies, some instant noodles and a few other essential items inside the trolley. I looked at my grocery list, headed to buy a few cartons of milk and a cereal box.
"Let's go grab some milk and buy a cereal box. After this, I can go home." I said to myself.
I looked through all types of milk, yoghurt and other dairy products. My eyes finally landed on the specific brand of milk I usually buy. I grabbed it and went towards the cereal box section. I looked at all types of cereal and found my favourite cereal.
"Oh, there it is!" I said. I paused for a second, furrowed my eyebrows, "But why do they put it on top of this shelf? I couldn't even reach it properly." I looked around, wanting to ask for someone's help but there is no one in sight at the moment. How come there isn't any worker in this section? I sighed heavily, mumbled to myself, "Looks like I need to get it myself." I tried to balance myself on a stool provided in the store and stretched my arms in order to reach for the carton of milk.
"Okay, Okay... Almost there. One more stretch. You—can do... this, Al-alannah!" I whispered.
I grabbed the cereal box and smiled. However, my feet began to wobble due to tiptoe for a long time and causing me to lose my balance. I screamed as I was about to fall. I closed my eyes not wanting to look. I opened my eyes slowly and thought, "Why my body isn't hurt and does not touch the ground?"
I looked around and found myself landed on a guy's back. I quickly get up, brushing myself and looked at the guy. I began to shake the guy's body, trying to wake him up.
"Oh my God. Sir, are you okay? Please wake up! Someone, help me! There is someone who passed out here! It is all because of me. I am sorry." I whimpered, scared of what will happened to the guy.
A few minutes later, I heard a grunted noise and the guy's hand is moving. "Oh gosh, you are conscious now! Sir, let me help you up." I reached for my hand and lifting him up.
The guy stood up and I looked up to see his face and wanting to apologize to him.
"Sir, I- I want to apol—Jeremy? What! What are you doing here?!" I gasped.
"Oh. It is—o.. HUH! Alannah?" He said loudly.
Well both of us looked shocked. It was an awkward silence for a few seconds. I cleared my throat, continued my sentence.
"Anyway, I am so sorry for landing on your back. I didn't mean to! Are you okay? Is your back hurt? I am heavy, right? So sorry. To make it up to you, I will treat you later when we meet up this evening." I apologized sincerely.
He giggled, ruffling my hair, "Yes, I am okay and you are not heavy, silly. How about you treat me now and also tell me what you wanted to tell me today?"
"Um.. I... I don't think it is a good time. See you this evening!" I quickly head to the counter and paid for my grocery.
I looked at my phone to see the reflection of my face.
"Ugh! Why do I have to bump into Jeremy while looking like a mess? He looked really cute in normal casual clothes. I looked like a person who haven't sleep for days. And I also landed on his back due to losing my balance. How embarrassing!" I sighed heavily.
I just noticed that I would always meet people I knew when I did not make any effort to dress up. The people I knew would accidentally meet me when I'm just wearing these sweatpants. I chuckled a little and sighed heavily afterwards, "I guess that's just my luck."
I quickly head home and decided to have a quick nap before meeting up with Jeremy at the park at 5 pm.
The alarm buzzed a few times. I yawned one more time before getting out of bed. I rubbed my eyes, stretching my arms, "That was a good nap! I feel more energized. A short quality nap is really important after all."
I went to the bathroom, washing my face and took a quick shower. 10 minutes later, I went out of the bathroom and went to look at my closet, wanting to choose a suitable outfit for the meeting.
