"No winter lasts forever, no spring skips its turn." - Hal Borland.
Joshua held Ivy hands gently and looked at her slowly. I heard him whispered something to her. Jeremy and I stand a bit further from Joshua giving him space to calm himself and looked at Ivy's condition.
"Ivy, please wake up soon. I miss you. I miss you so much. I will take care of you and help you to get better." Jeremy whispered. He sighed heavily, paused for a few seconds before continuing his sentence, "Please wake up... Please... I miss you."
I looked at him, wiping my tears. "Ivy, I hope you wake up soon and get better...Maybe it was my fault that all of this is happening? I... I shouldn't let you become more stressed... Everyone is worried. Everyone here loves you. I will always be with you so please open your eyes." I whispered to myself.
The three of us spent almost 30 minutes in the hospital room until the visiting hours ended. I took a look at Ivy before exiting her room, "I'll come back tomorrow Ivy. Please take a rest and wake up soon."
The three of us took a cab to Ivy's home as our bags were still in their house. I knocked on the door and greeted Auntie Flora. "Good evening, auntie. The three of us left our bags in the living room. We just need to get our stuffs. Sorry for the inconvenience."
Auntie Flora shook her head and replied, "No. It is okay. You guys can have dinner with us too. It is heartbreaking to see my daughter in this condition. I may need your opinions and suggestions for Ivy."
She gave a sad smile, continuing her sentence, "I should've been more understanding. I made a huge mistake. I... I..." I gave her a hug to comfort Auntie Flora, "auntie, please don't cry... I'm sure Ivy doesn't want to see you in this state... Please be strong and support her from now." Auntie Flora nodded, signaling her agreement to my reply.
I entered Ivy's room after getting permission from Auntie Flora and Uncle Ian. I looked around her room for a few seconds. I had been in Ivy's room a few times before. Her room used to be neat and organized. However, it looked kind of messy and had a dark atmosphere now. There were a few papers scattered on the floor. There were also a few clothes on the bed. It looked a bit unorganized and it showed how Ivy's condition was affected.
I picked up the papers on the floor and put it on the desk. I rearranged a few files on her desk. All of a sudden, a notebook fell on the floor. The notebook was in light blue and clouds printed on it. It was pretty and suits Ivy. Light blue had always been Ivy's favourite colour. She said that looking at the colour made her calm.
I picked it up and my eyes landed at one of the sentence Ivy wrote on the notebook. I widened my eyes, gasping as I read the whole paragraph of the notebook.
"Oh my God! So... this is her diary!" I gasped.
I immediately put it back and thought, "I shouldn't read her diary! It is not the right thing to do. It is her privacy!"
I recalled the sentence I read from her diary. I sighed heavily, ruffling my hair and whispered, "But this diary is the only way. This diary tells all of her emotions that had been suppressed for a few years. Probably no one knows about her true feelings."
I picked up the diary, went downstairs and whispered to myself, "I'm sorry for invading your privacy, Ivy but this is the only way. I want you to wake up soon and get better."
I headed towards the living room, making eye contact with Ivy's parents and said, "Auntie... Uncle... I have some important matter to tell.
