I was helping Connor look through different color pallets and flowers but he still didn't know what he wanted yet. "So have you thought of a theme for this years mating ritual?" I asked him from across his large dark desk. "I really don't know what the hell I'm doing. I've never done a theme or flowers when it comes to pack stuff. Why do we need all this stuff anyways?" He asked and I could tell he was becoming overwhelmed. "Okay I'll make you a deal. I pick everything out and you sign for it?" I asked and his shoulders dropped like the weight fell off of them.

"Deal but don't make me regret it. I've seen people pick out so many tacky themes and I won't let my pack think I have a shitty since of style when I'm left alone to choose things." He said making me laugh at his words. "Okay, I'm thinking white roses with red fading on the ends. We can put the roses in a red vase. Blue ribbons on white chairs and make sure the table cloths are black. Tie red, blue, black, and white balloons together on some of the chairs and around the windows and doors. Black, red, and blue ribbons running up the staircase. A red carpet walkway so the newly mated pack members feel like their royalty." I told him all my ideas and it seemed like he loved it.

"I'll send you, Olivia, and Luke to the stores around the pack grounds so all of you can go get everything we'll need. Here's my card, make sure you don't lose it." He said passing the plastic to me. I swiped the card from his large hand before jumped up to get into action. Before I was even able to make it to the door I could feel Connor breathing down the back of my neck. Turning around there he stood looming down at me as I looked up at him through my lashes. "You were really just going to leave without giving me a kiss?" He asked with a little offended tone in his voice. I rolled my eyes with a little smirk playing on my lips before smashing mine into his. It was quick but it still meant a lot to me. He didn't want me to leave him without kissing him first.

Olivia, Luke, and I were gone shopping all day long. I had managed to get everything we needed for the ritual at a good price. They both helped me set up the pack dining room with everything. When we were done I looked around smiling at how amazing it looked. As Olivia was placing the last ribbon on top of the stair's railing I felt a warm hard chest press against my back and arms wrap around my stomach. Looking down I seen Connor's tattoo and rings, in an instant I was melting into his chest, enjoying how warm he was. "You did a great job. The place looks beautiful." He whispered in my ear making me smile.

We were so caught up in the moment that I didn't realize what we were doing but, thank god for Olivia. She came running down the stairs, grabbing me and pulling me out of Connor's arms at the speed of light. As soon as I was pulled away the door opened and in walked the elders. "You can't let the elders see you two together like that. They will get mad thinking he is hiding something from them and they won't say anything until it benefits them. If Connor claims you they could remember this and tell him no." Olivia whispered in my ear making my heart ache. It's like every time I'm reminded of Connor and I not having a future it makes my heart want to stop.

By the time the elders had seen my idea come together they were in love with it. Not to flashy but not to dull either. Connor pulled me over to the elders and introduced me so they could give me their approvel. "The decorations are keen." One of the ladies said making me smile. "I love how you chose red and white for love and purity." Another lady spoke up. "I think the blue really fits our pack, it just screams Blue Moon Pack." A man said with an excited jump in his shoulders. "Well thank you. I am always here to help the pack with anything that they need." I told them with proudness in my words. They all nodded before excusing themselves and going back to their house.

"That was a standing ovation baby." Olivia said before grabbing my hands and spinning around in circles while jumping. I couldn't help but laugh and go along with it. I had alterier motives, I wanted to make a good impression on the elders. So maybe if Connor did choose me they would accept me. I know it's far fetched but theres no harm in trying right? After a few minor fixes we all decided to call it a day. Connor and I walked back to his house and Luke walked Olivia home. "What are you thinking about?" He asked looking around before throwing his arm around my shoulders, pulling me close to his side.

I didn't want to say but sooner or later we would need to get it out in the open. "If you and I don't have a mate, what are you going to do?" I asked and soon regreted it because his body went ridged. After a few seconds he cleared his throat and stood a little taller. "As long as you continue to help with the pack stuff I could claim you. But, if you have a mate and I don't then I will have to find someone else. I won't pull you from your mate." He said. I was confused to say the least. "I thought no one could force a claim unless the other person was unmated as well?" I stated more than asked. His body shook with light laughter at my words. "I'm an Alpha JJ, those rules only apply to normal pack members." He said as we made it into his house. "And since I'm the Alpha, I can give you special perks." He whispered in my ear, pressing his chest to my back and his right hand slowly moving toward my womanhood.
