Connor and I had locked ourselves in our room the minute we got home. We refused to leave the room other than to use the bathroom, take a shower, or eat food. Connor had seemed to be pushing off his pack business but it wasn't that bad. He told me that the pack was fine and nothing was happening that he needed to handle, so I was okay with it. We were laying in bed enjoying each other when we heard something outside. "What was that?" I asked jumping a little in his arms.

Connor jumped up at the sound of a child screaming loudly for her mommy. "I have to go see what's going on. Stay in the house, lock the doors and windows. Turn off all the lights and lay down. Don't open the door for anyone, do you understand baby?" He asked with worry in his voice. I jumped up from the bed running over to him and kissing his lips hard. "Please be safe, I love you." I told him after pulling away. He opened the bedroom door taking one last look at me. "I love you too." He said looking into my eyes before walking out. I was quick to lock the doors and windows and turn the lights out.

I jumped into the bed and threw the blanket over my head, getting my phone from the charger and dialing Olivia's number. It rang for a few seconds before she answered. "Hello?" She said in a sleepy voice. "Did you hear the scream?" I asked. I heard movement on the other end of the line. "No, what are you talking about?" She asked confused from my question. "Girl, there's something going on outside. I heard a little kid screaming bloody murder for their mother. Connor just went to check it out." I told her a little freaked out. "It's probably nothing. I wouldn't worry about it." She said making me calm down.

After a few minutes Connor came back into the house and knocked on the door telling me to open it. He came back in covered in blood and smelling like sour milk. "Why the hell do you smell like that?" I asked looking at his clothes. He jerked the clothes off and threw them into his dirty clothes basket. "A rouge broke into the pack grounds and killed one of the members. The kid you heard scream seen the rouge kill her mother." Connor said shaking his head sadly. "What happened to the kid?" I asked a little worried. "I sent her to a friend in the pack house that could watch her. Her dad died in a pack war so there isn't anyone that can watch her. I might have to send her to a different pack to be raised." Connor huffed shaking his head sadly.

"Connor, first thing tomorrow moring I want to meet this little girl." I told him with a tear running down my face. Her situation was almost like mine, I really felt for her. "Why?" He asked with curiousness in his tone and scrunched eyebrows. "Because I was once in that situation. Maybe I can help her." I told him before he crawled into the bed beside me. "If that's what you want to do, I'll take you to her tomorrow. But right now, I want you to get some sleep. We have been going at it for days now." He said chuckling a little at the end. I nodded turning on my side so he could spoon me.

After we woke up the next day Connor and I were fast to get ready for the day. I could tell he was still tired from the night before but he promised last night that I could meet the little girl today. "Can we go meet the little girl now?" I asked with a little excitement in my voice. "Yes after we do a little research first. I need to find out if she has any family close by. The only thing is if she does, they are not in this pack." He told me with a little sadness in his voice making me a little upset as well. As soon as we got to the pack house Connor went into the office pulling out a file and slapped it down on the table. He groaned a little as he pulled up the front of his pants to sat down in his desk chair.

I sat down across from him while he read all about the little family the girl was from. He had tears in his eyes and he shook his head looking down at the papers. My foot tapped on the rug as he kept reading further and further. Tears flowing down his cheeks like a river and he finally slammed the file shut, throwing it across the room. He took a few minutes to gather himself before looking up at me with sadness written in his eyes. "She has no family, the rouges killed off the only family she had left. We will have to find a family for her or send her to another pack." His words causing a knot to form in my throat, burning like I had drank a glass of white hot metal.

"Can I please go meet her now?" I asked with a little hope. He nodded standing up and we left the pack house to go see the little girl. The walk was long and I couldn't help but notice there was a house the was burned and falling down in the middle. The grass beside the burned house had large patches of blood stains and some puddles of blood in the dirt. I poked Connor in the ribs making him turn to look at me, stopping in the process. My hand raised pointing to the house and his eyes followed to the place I was pointing to.

The air picked up, blowing pasted us and the smell of soured milk hit my nose making me gag. "That smells so bad, is that the rouge smell?" I asked still staring at the the blood puddled up in the dirt. Connor seemed to sniff the wind that was blowing pasted us. "Yes. That is probably one of the worst ones we've ever had around here. I can't believe he made it passed the guards and protection spells." He said before grabbing my hand and pulling me lightly away from the carnage the rouge had left in our pack grounds. "Will you text Luke and tell him that I said to get someone to clean up that place?" He asked as we left the burned down house behind us.
