AUTUMN'S POV

I don't remember what happened after the doors closed in front of my face, leaving me longing for Kai Parker as I stared at the beautiful carvings of the double doors. But sleep overcame me after a few seconds had gone by, and the next thing I knew? The sound of music and lights flashing over my eyelids every so often had woken me up. My head was pounding, and my eyes felt sensitive to the street lights that flashed over my window. I groaned and rubbed my eyes, feeling like absolute garbage as I sat back in the passenger seat of a car, and that's when it hit me.

Kai. Eclipse Coven. OH, FUCK!

I jerked up in a panic and caught the attention of the driver, my breathing was uneven, and I was ready to swing at the person who kidnapped me.

"Orange, relax." I heard a husky voice say, making my head snap over to the direction of the driver. Kai glanced at me for a second and back at the road; I watched as the street lights danced across Kai's face and relaxed, letting out a dramatic exhale as I sat back.

I'm safe...wait- What the hell happened? Last thing I remembered was being dragged out of the coven leader's office. I looked around the car; we're in Highway Diva, so that's a good sign.

Wait-... Jo and Joel, are they?

I sat up and twisted my body to face the backseats, letting out another exhale as I saw Jo and Joel. They were peacefully sleeping with not a scratch on them, which was also another good sign. I sat back again, staring at the road straight ahead of me.

Knowing that everyone was okay made me feel better, but things didn't add up like...why did they let us go?

My eyes trailed over to Kai, "What happened?"

Kai kept his eyes on the road, " Had no useful information and let us go, said we were no use for him." He shrugs, and I eyed him up and down skeptically, not believing him one bit.

Kai seemed distracted.

"Okay, but what did he tell you?" I said softly and watched as Kai gripped the steering wheel dangerously tight, not giving me a glance whatsoever. I swallowed hard and kept my gaze on Kai, but he didn't say anything.

About to give up, Kai turns to me once he stopped at a red light, "He said yadda yadda yadda my dad is an asshole. Oh! This is a good one...says my dad REALLY doesn't like me." He said sarcastically with a playful grin. "Apparently, Joshua told everyone I'm the black sheep of the coven!" He began to laugh.

My eyes saddened as he proceeded once his laugher died down, "That hurt my feelings." He sighs dramatically, then snorts, shaking his head, "You know...I never understood why my father had so many kids...but it makes sense now." Kai said mainly to himself as he was lost in his thoughts but then snapped out of it, "Anyways, how did you sleep? Because you were kinda drooling on Highway Diva, but I'll keep that between us..." He whispered and smiled at me mischievously.
