AUTUMN'S POV

If you were to sit here and tell me that I would be going on a date with Kai Parker one day? I would think you're delusional, but here we are on a Saturday afternoon in January of 94. Today was the day Kai and I would be going on our first date, and yes, we waited two weeks to go on a date. I meant what I said about taking things slow. Kai really hurt me, and forgiving him didn't mean I would forget all the pain he had caused me. It was in my best interest to figure out if Kai really wanted this, and he did from the looks of it. Also, after the new year, Kai's been coming over to my apartment every day to hang out, and sometimes Jo would tag along. But since then, nothing has really happened between us, although Kai had finally asked me out on a date a few days ago. He was awkward about it, but it was so adorable, and let's just say...Jo was hiding in a bush and jumped out when I said yes. Apparently, she wanted to witness Kai asking me out, which only pissed him off.

The thought caused a smile to spread across my lips as I looked for something to wear for our date. Kai said we would be outside, for the most part, so my options for clothing went straight for everything warm and cozy. I looked through my closet and pulled out a turquoise turtleneck sweatshirt, examining it before I set it on my bed and looked for some dark blue flared jeans to pair with the sweatshirt. Once I had the jeans set on my bed, I walked over to my closet. Looking for a belt to wear and some shoes.

Let's see, black would look good with this outfit. I thought while pushing my brown belts out of my way to take hold of the black one I had. Once it was wrapped around my hand, I pulled it out and bend down to look for some shoes.

Converse? No, that would make my outfit look funny. What about my combat boots? I pulled one boot out and turned to my outfit, looking at the shoe and over to the clothing, but it didn't match.

Well fuck.

I let out a huff placing it down before I got on my hands and knees, digging into my closet for the shoes in the back. I kind of just threw everything in my closet and called it a day when I first moved in and never cleaned it.

Oops?

My hand soon wrapped around a knuckle-length pointed black leather boot that had a 3-inch-thick heel. I only buy thick heels because I can't walk in thin heels unless I plan to break an ankle, and today was not the day. My eyes gazed at the boot before I pulled out the second one and stood up.

I'm only 5'5, so these will make me look a little taller, and I needed that because Kai's like- 6 feet.

"Okay, I have everything I need." I said happily, turning around to face my bathroom. My apartment isn't big at all; it's a studio apartment because that's all I could afford.
